3 English Inspired Gin Cocktail Recipes for the Holidays
The Gin & Tonic
- 1.50 oz. Highclere Castle Gin
- Artisanal Tonic Water
- Garnish with Orange Peel & Rosemary Sprig
Fill the glass with ice, followed by the gin. Slowly pour the tonic water and give a gentle stir. Cut an orange peel and twist it over the top of the glass which releases its natural oils. Place the orange peel into the glass along with a fresh sprig of rosemary.
“This delicious masterpiece deserves a well-chilled highball or balloon glass”
—Luis Coelho, Head Butler-Highclere Castle
The Negroni
- .50 oz. Highclere Castle Gin
- .50 oz. Sweet Vermouth
- .50 oz. Campari
- Fresh Orange Peel
Pour the gin, vermouth, and Campari into a mixing glass, adding ice and stirring until it is chilled.
“I prefer to use a very thin glass with an extra-large ice cube as opposed to numerous ice cubes. The cocktail looks delightful and the pleasure is heightened”
—Luis Coelho, Head Butler, Highclere Castle
The White Lady
- 1.50 oz. Highclere Castle Gin
- .50 oz. Triple Sec
- .80 oz. Lemon Juice
- One Egg White
(optional but splendid)
Mix the gin, triple sec and lemon juice with a half cup of ice and shake until cold. Strain into a martini or coupe glass.
“If you are adding the egg white (which we adore) place it in the shaker with the other ingredients but don’t add ice at first. Given them a shake for about 20 seconds to allow the egg to blend through. Strain the mixture, then add ice, and shake until cold.”
—Luis Coelho, Head Butler, Highclere Castle
