Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup steel cut oats
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 cups water
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • cup half and half
  • Jam or Preserves of your choice with fresh fruit
  • For this Summertime Instant Pot Oatmeal Recipe I used strawberry jam with fresh strawberries, blueberry jam with fresh blueberries, peach preserves with fresh peaches.

Instructions

  • Place butter and oats in instant pot. Saute for 5 minutes, stirring frequently until oats begin to brown. Add salt and cinnamon and mix well. Add water and stir well.
  • Place the lid onto the instant pot and seal. Close the pressure release valve. Set the pot to manual, high pressure for 13 minutes. When cooking cycle is complete, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes and then release remaining pressure and open the pot.
  • Stir oats well. Stir in brown sugar and mix well. Stir in half & half. Spoon into bowls and top with desired jam and fresh fruit.
