How to Make Brookies: a Brownie Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

  • 18 oz brownie mix just the powder, no 'extras'
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 C. vegetable oil
  • 1 1 /4 C. flour
  • Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ingredients
  • 1 C. butter softened to room temperature
  • 1 C. packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 C. flour
  • 4 tsp. corn starch
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 C. chocolate chips + more for placing a few extra on top of each Brookie

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine the chocolate chip cookie ingredients, mixing well.
  3. Combine the ingredients, mixing well. The dough will be thick and that is ok.
  4. To make the Brookies - for a 1" ball out of the each dough: Chocolate Chip AND brownie. Now, smoosh together and gently roll into into a ball and place 2-3" a part on your baking shets (see photo).
  5. Repeat with remaining dough. You may have extra chocolate chip dough leftover so feel free to bake it as usual. ;)
  6. Bake 8-10 minutes on 350 degrees. Do not overbake - these are wonderful being soft and chewy.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow them to cool.
