It's no secret that traveling takes me to the my happy place. This year I've been fortunate enough to criss cross the United States and the Atlantic Ocean as my wanderings take me places near and far. All of this travel has been good for me in a year when I have so much going on in my personal life. But that doesn't mean travel can't come with some unique challenges itself. Whether I'm road tripping to the Carolina's or at yet another connecting airport before I reach my destination I spend a lot time just getting place to place. Which makes the contents of my carry on or my day bag pretty essential.

4 Day Bag Essentials For The Traveling Woman
High Quality H2O
Travel in general can be hard on your body. If you're a flyer, the air circulating an airplane is notoriously dry. But even car trips hold their own stressors. For starters you're more likely to make frequent stops and find yourself making unhealthy food and drink choices. Carrying a bottle of water allows you to take the decision making process off your hands and since it's always within reach you will be more likely to reach for it more often.
Emergency Kit
Each persons emergency kit should be unique to them but a few staples would include tylenol, wet wipes, stain remover, safety pins and emergency contact information like the number for AAA. It doesn't have to be a formal kit, just a few things you keep on hand to make those "Oh man" moments a little easier to deal with.
Moisturizer
Dry air, salt water, the sun and sand are things I come into contact with on the regular while traveling. As fun as the latter three are they can be tough on skin leaving it feel itchy and tight. Carrying around a good moisturizer and an SPF lip balm are great ways to keep you feeling comfortable.
A Snack
If you have ever been stuck on a plane due to "mechanical problems" you know there is going to be a long wait ahead of you. Most likely just when you think they can't keep you on another second, they do. Another one of my favorites is when I'm driving through a major city only to hit rush hour traffic right about the time my belly starts to rumble. Neither instances are the time to get hangry which is why I like to keep a little snack in my purse - for the safety and well being of those around me. Everyone's favorite peanut butter, Jif, is now the perfect new snack – Jif™ Peanut Butter Granola Bars! They're creamy, fresh roasted Jif layers paired with chewy, crunchy granola. They would make me happy because I can send my kid out the door to the bus stop with something that I know would fill him up until snack time and lunch. Being that he has to be on the bus stop at 7:25 now, he doesn't always have enough time for breakfast.
