Oregon
The holiday season is the perfect time to visit Oregon which has been named the Christmas tree capital of the world! Its 137 miles from Portland to Oregon and back again. Escape the City: New York to Pennsylvania

Your route should take you through the Rockwell countryside and you can experience skiing at Holimont, a private ski resort. You can then drive through the evergreen forest and reach your destination to try pond skating, sledging and a little more skiing.
Burlington to Jackson

During the holiday season the ice should be thick enough to be safely walked on and you can experience the caves in their natural state, icicles and all. Of course, you can always squeeze in a little skiing and enjoy the amazing Christmas light display as well.
