While in LA for the world premiere of Disney Pixar's Finding Dory, I went to the set of Disney Channel's brand new show, Bizaardvark. Now, considering that this is a show on the Disney Channel and I am 38 years old...you can probably appreciate the fact that I wasn't necessarily excited about watching the show, but I was excited about seeing a sneak peek of the show before anyone else! What can I say, I like to be FIRST. I was actually pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the show. It reminded me of a show Angeline watched when she was younger, but with a totally modern and quirky vibe....yeah, I liked it!
We watched the pilot episode, then sat down with the cast and learned about the process of making the show, the message behind it and all kinds of fun tidbits about their lives as child actors. I'm always fascinated by teenagers who have such serious jobs - you can't get much more demanding than working on the set of a television show!
So, Bizaardvark is a live comedy-action show that presents the lives of two teenagers, Paige and Frankie, who are total besties and have a small following on Vuuugle, which is the show's version of YouTube. They're typical teenagers in that they don't feel they belong, and their video blogging is their way of sharing their lives with the world and feeling a bit of connectivity. I really loved this message...I mean, hello, I am a blogger! Many people get into the blogging business because they're a bit different, non-traditional, and looking for a space to call their own. I could totally relate to these kids!

The show's creators, Kyle Stegina and Josh Lehrman, really knew what they were doing when they came up with this new show and the cast is just perfect for their roles. They're endearing and quirky in their own ways, and total sweethearts!
“We had an awesome time making it. I think we really related to it a lot because it’s centered” Kyle shared with us. “Paige and Frankie are two really creative young comedians who find their salvation in Vuuugle.”
“They go to this school where they don’t fit in” Kyle explained. “Vuuugle is basically our version of YouTube. Everyone is welcome for what they do.”
“Everyone’s celebrated for that, because really no one does kind of the same thing.” he added.
We even got to watch them rehearse scenes for an upcoming episode. It was so fun to see them in action!
The Disney Channel's Bizaardvark premieres Friday, June 24 at 9:45 PM EST. Make sure to tune in! Your kids - and you - will love it!!
