The skin is the largest and one of the most important organs in the human body. But all so often, it is regularly exposed to all kinds of things, from strong sunlight to dirt, bumps, environmental contaminants, and other forms of irritants. Considering the many roles it plays to keep you looking good and in good health, the skin deserves all the care it can get to stay in top shape. Needless to mention, what you do in your day to day activities greatly affects your skin, so while you may have great genes, it is necessary to augment that with good skin care practices.
A good skincare routine that I swear by consists of three steps: cleansing, toning, and moisturizing. I will be using a wide range of products, including a now popular herb known as Pueraria Mirifica. It is native to Thailand and other parts of east Asia whose root extract contains phytoestrogens, which according to Mirifica Science, mimic the human hormone estrogen to help rejuvenate your skin. Apart from fighting blemishes, wrinkles, fine lines, and blackheads, the other great thing about this herb is that it also helps relieve menopausal symptoms like hot flashes and night sweats. In supplement form, some take it for breast enlargement, and the health benefits don’t end there. It’s also been found effective in preventing cancer and osteoporosis as well as improving heart health. Back to the main juice, here’s a skincare routine I can swear by, and my gloom has never been this good before.
1. Cleansing
Before applying any product on your face, it’s best to first give your face and skin a good cleansing. This will get rid of dirt and other contaminants on your skin that may hinder the efficiency of products meant to help maintain your skin. While there are many facial cleansing products out there, Micellar water is a great option since it’s not so soapy and it attracts all the unwanted materials on your skin. It is also easy to remove with a simple swipe as opposed to the repeated rinsing that other soapy cleansers used to subject me to. The Micellar water is great for any skin type, meaning that you won’t have problems even if you have sensitive skin. What’s more, it doesn’t strip the essential healthy oils that are naturally present in your skin. Do this regularly and you can finally say goodbye to dried out facial skin.
2. Toning
After cleansing your face, I’d recommend that you do a toning next. This is a great way to add extra nutrients to your skincare products. “It adds an extra layer of skin replenishment,” says renowned New York esthetician, Jordana Mattioli. However, your results will largely depend on the toning products you go for. For instance, Rosewater and Green tea will calm skin irritation and reduce that pesky redness with its anti-inflammatory effects. Some toners also get rid of dead skin, revealing the lighter, tighter, and more glowing layer underneath. Adding more Vitamin E and C to your diet will also go a long way in fighting the free radicals that age your supple skin.
3. Moisturizing
This is the final step to my awesome skincare routine and also the most important one. The use of a good moisturizer is what will determine if your skin will stay supple or dry out and get irritated easily because this is what will be used year-round. I recommend using a moisturizer containing Pueraria Mirifica because it is a natural way to protect your skin. As earlier noted, its wide range of phytoestrogens mimics your natural estrogen, which helps to hydrate and soften your skin. Its natural compounds also complement the natural protective oils and other building blocks in your skin, giving you a smooth, youthful, and natural-looking skin. The best part is that Pueraria Mirifica is readily available in food health stores as gels or capsules which gives you options.
While it’s proper skincare is an essential part of daily living, it can sometimes feel like the hardest of tasks. It gets even more bothersome when you’ve tried a variety of products and none seem to be giving you the results you’re looking for. However, achieving youthful-looking, great skin doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg, neither does it have to give you sleepless nights. It’s just about knowing the right skincare products for you and sticking to a routine. The above simple steps could be all you need for your skin to start looking better than ever before.
