When you start looking into skin, you will discover the vast range of different routines that there are out there for you to follow. However, everyone's skin care routine is different depending on the type of skin you have. You should have a look at Jenny Pink at Natural Beauty Uncovered, who can help you to discover what your skin type is.

How To Build A Skincare Routine For Beginners

Once you know what your skin type is, you can start building a skincare routine around your needs. Today, we are going to discuss how you can build a skincare routine for beginners.

    Keep Everything Is Simple

We advise beginners to start with a simple three step routine that includes cleansing, moisturizing, and sunscreen application. Of course, based on your particular skincare requirements, this can be changed, and additional steps may be added.

For instance, if you suffer from acne, you might think about adding a spot treatment. Whatever the situation, the essential three stages continue to serve as the basis of an effective skincare regimen.

Even while it may be tempting to purchase numerous skincare products, keeping your routine straightforward will prevent over stimulation of your skin. Additionally, keeping your skincare routine to a minimum will help you save money and prevent product waste.

    What Is Your Skin Type?

Identifying your skin type is one of the first stages in developing a skincare routine. The needs of your skin type must be catered for by your chosen skincare products. Compared to dry skin types, who require thick, rich moisturizers, oily skin types might be more focused with matte substances.

Observing your skin during the day is a simple approach to figure out what type of skin you have.

    • Dry Skin - Your skin may look dry with flaky areas.
    • Oily Skin - With oily skin, you will notice that your skin looks shiny. This is due to your skin producing too much oil.
    • Sensitive Skin - Your skin is often painful to touch, with irritated and red areas.
    • Combination Skin - Combination skin is usually a combination of flaky and oily areas.

    How To Create Your Routine

Once your skin type is chosen, you can follow these steps on creating a skincare routine

    Cleanser

A cleanser gets rid of the bacteria, oil, and grime you come into contact with throughout the day or when you're sleeping at night. This is the most important stage in your routine.  Cleaning your face will help you have fresh skin at the beginning or end of the day.

While individuals with dry skin should opt for hydrating cleansers to help repair the skin's moisture barrier. Those with oily skin should look for foamy cleansers that eliminate extra oil.

    Moisturizer

In order to replace the water your skin loses during the day, it needs hydration. Hyaluronic acid and ceramides are two chemicals in moisturizers that can offer your skin the hydration it requires to remain healthy and young-looking.

    Sunscreen

Sunscreen should be worn every day. You'll lessen your risk of developing skin cancer as well as the signs of aging, such as wrinkles and dark patches.

You can easily receive the UV protection you require without purchasing additional products because most moisturizers feature SPF. Make sure the formula has broad-spectrum SPF 30 or greater to guarantee you are as protected as possible.

    Alter As Needed

After setting up the foundation, you can gradually add more products into your routine as you see fit. You should address any skin issues you want to fix at this step of your routine. This could involve redness, acne, or dull skin in general.

This is the step where you would consider adding in toners, exfoliators and acne treatments.

    Allow Time

Once you have everything you need, you should put it all together into a morning and nightly routine. When it comes to skincare, consistency is crucial, so be sure the regimen you develop will be one you can adhere to consistently every day.

If your skin doesn't improve immediately after starting your new routine, don't give up. Try to stick with your regimen for at least six weeks if you want to see the most obvious benefits.

    Conclusion

A skincare routine is very personal to each person and requires a lot of trial and error to get it right. However, for a beginner the main elements you need in your skincare routine is a cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. However, depending on any skin issues you want to improve, you can add more products as you see fit.
