One of the most spectacular of the Barbados destination hotels, the Hilton Barbados Resort sits on an old military fortress location on Needham’s Point.
Overlooking the crystalline Caribbean Sea, the Hilton Barbados Resort was built on the site of a 17th century fort and a romantic historic ambiance pervades throughout the property, whether it be the elegant guest spaces and dining venues or the military cemetery next door.
The hotel is just steps from two of Barbados’ most spectacular beaches and is only twenty minutes from the airport and five minutes from the friendly buzz of Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados.

While the desk area is the perfect place to catch up on blog work during our most recent stay, I opted to take the laptop outside and enjoy the ocean breeze.
Each guestroom features a private balcony with table and chairs as well. I spent one afternoon writing blog posts while watching a surfing class take place below my balcony!
Spacious suites include two balconies, separate work area and living room, and guests enjoy Executive Lounge privileges including complimentary continental breakfast and private bar.
As Chris is a Diamond member of the Hilton HHonors rewards program, we went to the Executive Lounge each morning for breakfast, which was always stocked with fresh fruits, pastries, eggs, breakfast meats and an assortment of juices, coffee, water and sodas.
We also enjoyed the complimentary finger foods each evening during happy hour, where there is an optional cash bar.

Offering warm hospitality and exquisite cuisine, the Lighthouse Terrace Restaurant serves light meals, themed buffets and signature rum cocktails in an enchanting lighthouse setting, while The Grille offers a mix of casual dishes and gourmet snacks.
Guests enjoy a pristine white sand beach, lushly landscaped two-level pool complex, spacious whirlpool, three illuminated tennis courts, a fully equipped fitness center and spa treatment rooms overlooking Carlisle Bay.
Activities include a fantastic water sports center, PADI scuba diving instruction and a fun-filled Kids’ Club.
