Different Types of Facial Treatments

Different Types of Facial Treatments

People can undergo different types of facial treatments for many reasons. Most people want to reduce the signs of aging to have younger-looking skin. But, other people, like teenagers, want to reduce acne, scarring, redness, and pigmentation disorders.

Whatever reason you choose to get facial treatments, it is a personal choice that depends on your skin history and how your skin reacts to different treatments. There are different types of skin (sensitive, normal, and oily), and your type of skin will determine the kind of facial treatment you need.

Many types of facial treatments can help you achieve the goal you are trying to reach.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a procedure that can be done at an esthetician’s office. They will use a unique tool to sand the outer layer of skin. This procedure can treat light scarring, discoloration, sun damage, and stretch marks on your face. This procedure may sound intimidating, but the treatment area is usually numbed to prevent discomfort. Microdermabrasion helps to increase the collagen in your skin, resulting in younger-looking skin. Microdermabrasion will also help to reduce blackheads, acne scars, and enlarged pores.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing is a procedure that must be performed at an esthetician’s office due to the special tools that are needed. The esthetician will use a device to project a beam of light onto the skin’s surface. The esthetician will go through one layer at a time until the problems you want to be fixed are taken care of. Laser skin resurfacing can make your face look younger, help with acne and scarring, and get rid of warts and unwanted birthmarks.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels can be done by an esthetician or at home. A chemical peel will remove the damaged outer layers of your skin while improving its texture and tone. Chemical peels can help reduce scarring, acne, rough skin, sun damage, and pigmentation damage. If you are thinking of doing a chemical peel by yourself, Miami Beauty Clinic suggests you consult a professional esthetician before attempting the procedure.

Laser Skin Rejuvenation

Laser skin rejuvenation or laser peel is used for people with acne and sun damage. A beam of light is projected onto the outside layer of the skin, which can reduce the signs of getting older. Your skin history and esthetician’s advice will determine how often this procedure needs to be done.

Hydrafacial

A hydrafacial is composed of three steps. The first step is a deep clean and peel of the skin. The second step is to perform any extractions. Lastly, the hydration part of the facial is when the esthetician will take a pen-like tool to inject serums, hyaluronic acid, and peptides into the skin. This treatment is great for people with normal or dry skin types and can be performed as often as once a month.

Of course, it is recommended that you consult your dermatologist before getting any of these treatments done.
