We're often told growing up that the friends we have during childhood aren't the friends we’ll have into adulthood.
For the most part, I find that to be true, but every once in awhile we're lucky enough to remain friends with someone long into our adult years. I have such a friend, Sabrina, and not only has our friendship endured, but we still live next door to each other!
With a friendship as long as ours, we've shared more than our fair share of adventurous nights out, parenting woes, and shared experiences. We're both recently divorced and single parents with teenage kids, which gives us A LOT to talk about.

Watermelon Bellini Recipe
One of us is constantly texting the other for an emergency night out when divorce, teenagers, and life in general, become too much. Equally as often, though, we also find it nice to stay in for cocktails and girl talk, divorce talk, kid talk - you name it!
On our most recent night in, we decided to shake things up a bit and try something new. Tropicana has a few new flavors on the market, so I invited Sabrina over for some girl talk, blog planning and yep, you guessed it - cocktails!
I am not very creative when it comes to mixology, but Tropicana Premium Drinks are perfect for at-home mixology, and Sabrina more than makes up for my lack of creativity; she had two fabulous ideas before we even left the house to buy our girl's night in supplies!
Tropicana Premium Drinks are great on their own, but are even tastier when used as a cocktail mixer! I love watermelon and eat it all the time as a snack (it's one of my favorite fruits!), so I knew that I wanted to use that flavor for our drinks.
I am a vodka gal, so I grabbed a bottle of my favorite brand, and we set out in search of the other ingredients.
I found both of the new Tropicana Premium Drinks flavors at my local grocery store. There is a Tropicana Watermelon and Tropicana Tangerine Lemonade. YUM!
Tropicana Premium Drinks have ‘no artificial sweeteners’ and ‘no artificial flavors,’ so I wanted to keep these cocktail recipes pretty simple. We grabbed my vodka, some champagne and watermelon and feta cheese…
Every girls night in needs a fruity cocktail, so we decided to whip a little bubbly champagne, a hint of vodka and a splash of Tropicana® Watermelon for a delicious new cocktail. Tropicana Premium Drinks are great on their own, but are even tastier when used as a cocktail mixer!
Note that the ingredients necessary for this Watermelon Bellini Recipe will vary depending on how many ladies are partaking.
Watermelon Bellini Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 ounce vodka
- 2 ounces Tropicana Watermelon
- red sugar (you can also add a drop of red food dye to granulated sugar to make it red)
- about an ounce of champagne
- Karo syrup
Directions
Place a bit of Karo syrup on a plate and dip your glasses in it, ensuring that it coats evenly. Place your red sugar in a small bowl and dip the glass in the sugar, making sure that you get a nice, full coating of sugar around the entire glass.
Add your vodka, then the Tropicana Watermelon, then fill to the top with champagne.
Top it off with champagne, a sprig of mint and a chunk of watermelon and ENJOY!
The best part of girl's night in? You don't need to get dressed up or put on makeup. And you can also do it in the afternoon, or for brunch. There are no rules, folks - just have FUN!!!
