What To Wear On A Motorcycle: Your Complete Guide

Published: Apr 15, 2019 · Modified: Apr 15, 2019 by Jennifer · This post may contain affiliate links · Leave a Comment

Riding a motorcycle can be a thrilling and pleasurable experience but again, it sometimes comes with certain hazards which any safety-conscious motorcyclist would like to avoid. If you’re a rider that cares about his/her riding safety, odds are that you’d love to find out some of the tools, including the basic and the supplementary ones, you should incorporate into your motorcycle gear.

Coming as a comprehensive guide, this article features the tools and motorcycle gear you should have for you to easily centre your riding experiences on optimal safety.

What To Wear On A Motorcycle: Your Complete Guide

What To Wear On A Motorcycle: Your Complete Guide

    Gloves

Obviously, you shouldn’t consider gloves as needless safety accessories for motorcyclists. Besides enabling you to grip your motorcycle’s handles firmly, using the right gloves can save your hands from the scorching effect of the sun. Even if your palms have been drenched with sweat, you can be sure wearing gloves will enable those palms to firmly grip your motorcycle’s handles. And if you’re damn bent on protecting your hands entirely, endeavor to don gloves that generously extend past your wrists.

    Motorcycle Boots

If you’re really keen to incorporate ideal safety into your motorcycling drills, it becomes necessary to have motorcycle boots. Importantly, the boots you’re choosing should not only suit your personal preference but also pack rugged compositions alongside soles that will prevent your feet from slipping off pedals while riding. If you’re wearing sturdy, adequately fitted and rigid boots, you can be sure your ankles/feet will remain in position or unlikely get hurt during an accident.

    Suitable Helmet

You may consider a helmet a sheer fitment added to safety gear by manufacturers but in reality, a safety helmet is more than this as it can lessen your likelihood of sustaining severe head injuries. While there are imposing collections of helmet types to choose from, it’s advisable that you visit the nearest motorcycle gear shop and seek recommendations from any available expert.

On the one hand, the helmet you’re choosing should be duly protective and on the other hand, it should adequately fit your head. One way you can be sure you’re choosing the appropriate helmet is to request a test service before you eventually buy any helmet.

    Pants and Jacket

Wearing a jacket could be a nice way to save your skin from abrasions if you suddenly get hooked in an accident while riding. Even while setting out to ride under hot conditions, endeavor to outfit your body with pants and a jacket made from leather or any other heavy-duty fabric. You can even look attractive (especially when worn with professional riding jersey)

    Motorcycle Body Armor

This is, of course, a special safety tool you should incorporate in your riding gear. For maximum riding safety, wearing a jacket and pants alone might not be enough and so, you should have standard body armor, such as any of the CE-rated varieties, underneath your jacket. By “CE-rated”, you’re expected to have body armor that matches up to the safety standards set by related American and European companies.

    Cooling Vest

Again, this might seem an extraneous riding accessory to some people but of course, it will be of great help to you if you’re riding under overly hot conditions such as a summer afternoon. Designed to free your body of sweat and heat, a cooling vest can be added to your basic motorcycle gear. You can have it as a sort of underwear, cooling your body as you glide through under hot weather. With a cooling vest, you’re certain to avert the inconvenience of riding in a scorching afternoon and simply incorporate coolness into your riding exercise.
