We all know the fury of summer and how hot can it get. In these cases, you cannot honestly believe that people love to go to the grocery store to do some shopping. That’s why, more and more people rely on meal kits, which are pre-portioned meals for two or four persons, that take less than an hour to prepare. It’s a new trend that has grown popularity fast.

It’s important to get to know your suppliers before starting to buy boxes full of kits. We’ve prepared a list with the best ones in the market. Apart from them, you can find the plated review here – you won’t be disappointed with their services.

Why Meal Kits Are a Perfect Solution for This Summer

    Chefs Plate

This service was born in 2014 in Toronto and has now become a national service. Chefs Plate makes 15-minute meals by making the most out of pre-chopped ingredients. The recipe gets tested five times before hitting the market. It will cost you $10.95 per plate, which leads to $65.70 per week.

People said that the dished looked exactly like they did in photos. The recipe was quite simple, in details – so easier to follow and it was ready in 35 minutes.

    GoodFood

This one was launched in 2014 and it’s famous for its service that delivers meals across Canada from Sunday to Friday. They like to think of themselves as the Netflix of food. They test about 18 recipes per week. The Toronto boxes are filled in Montreal and they go directly on their way to the delivery place. It costs $12.50 per serving

They come with a step-to-step guide and are famous for their incredible BBQ sauce and the Pork Burgers. There’s one problem: there are a metric ingredients lists that makes it almost impossible to make the recipe without a gauge.

    Hello Fresh

This one comes from Berlin from 2011, but it actually arrived in 2016. They work directly with the suppliers to deliver only fresh products, meat that’s free of antibiotics and a fish that’s a week fresher than any other supermarket fare. Also, the ice packs are recycled by the company. It costs $11.67/meal

The photos are amazing, and the directions are clear, thing that makes the cooking easy. But it’s good to keep in mind that not all the little containers are recyclable. Excess packaging represents a problem.

    Fresh City Farms

This one was launched in 2011 and it works with 50 farms, so it’s sure that they deliver fresh food in the meal kits. Speaking of kits, they have about 100$% organic ingredients. It’ll cost $9.75 to $12.25 per serving.

The ingredients really are fresh, but people said that the recipes are problematic – they can do better – they’re too fancy for what people want from these services.
