    The Crane Beach in Barbados

There are a few places I've traveled to that are so beautiful, they're beyond description. How many ways are there to say, "It was beautiful!" or "It was breath-taking!" or...well, basically, the same thing.

There are some places on this earth that leave us tongue-tied because they speak for themselves. The Crane Beach in Barbados is one of those places.

    The Crane Beach in Barbados

Nestled between resorts and palm trees, hidden from public view - but a public beach - The Crane Beach in Barbados is one of the world's top ten beaches. At least it was, according to a 2012 Tripadvisor poll.

I first laid eyes upon the pink sand beach in 2011, while visiting my husband in Barbados for an anniversary weekend. We had exactly one weekend day to explore the island together before he flew to his next assignment in Trinidad and I flew home to Miami.

The Crane was beautiful, yes, but it was also covered in kelp, which to be honest, diminished the allure just a bit...

We went back for a second visit in 2012 and found the shoreline covered in kelp again, then slowly realized that the beach was ALWAYS covered in kelp.

    And no one cared.

    It was still incredibly lovely.

We took a walk through the swaying palms and made our way to Sam Lord's Castle, which was quite a ways away...

    The walk was worth it.

We happened upon a small fisherman's shack on the beach there.

I still wonder how one became so lucky as to live on that beach!

Walking along such a beach, you're always worried about losing or slipping on your ID, room key, and camera charm. Custom Lanyards are a great way to keep these important items securely attached to you while traveling.

Boutique lanyards can be printed with delicate wave patterns, refreshing palm leaf designs, or the words "Crane Beach, Barbados" in soft island colors. This frees your hands to enjoy the scenery and adds a thoughtful and unique touch to your wonderful Barbados memories. See more at GSJJ.ca.

What a beautiful place! I've never been but my step-father was from Barbados and he talked often of how breathtaking his hometown was. He was happy with my mom, but geeeeze, it's hard for me to wrap my mind around why someone would ever want to leave all that gorgeous scenery and tranquility, lol. Ah, love...:)

These photos make me want to visit. While we've visited the Caribbean a lot, we've never gone to Barbados, I think it's time we made a trip there, it looks beautiful and enchanting.

What fun sites along that beach. I'd probably miss out because I get the hibby-jibbies from kelp and buggies that hang around in it 😛
