We created these Chocolate Dipped Berries Easter Carrot Treats that are perfect for entertaining around the Easter holiday!

With Easter around the corner, it's time to start thinking about recipes that are easy to put together but look pretty sitting on the Easter brunch table! While Chris and I are not religious, we celebrate Easter as a holiday centered around spending time with our families - isn't that what every holiday boils down to?

I have been hosting our family's Annual Easter Egg Hunt for a few years now, and while we usually have Easter dinner (we do a 1 or 2 PM meal) at my parent's house or my cousin's house, everyone comes back to my house afterwards to find the 100 or 200 candy-filled Easter Eggs I've hidden around the yard.

I like serving treats for the adults while the kids run around grabbing their candy-filled eggs - that way, everyone gets goodies! These Easter Carrot Treats are going to be perfect for serving alongside my Easter Muddy Buddies Mix this year!

Chocolate Dipped Berries Easter Carrot Treats Recipe Ingredients

    • 1 package fresh, ripe strawberries (select berries with bit leafy greens at the top)
    • 12 ounces white chocolate dyed orange or candy orange melting wafers
    • 1 box chocolate cake mix

Chocolate Dipped Berries Easter Carrot Treats Recipe Directions

The first thing you need to do is to hand wash and thoroughly dry each strawberry, including the green tops. You usually cut off the tops of strawberries, but we will be keeping them for this recipe, so make sure that they're nice and clean! I used a piece of twine to carefully tie up the green tops of the berries.

Chocolate-Dipped Berries make perfect Easter Carrot Treats!

When you tie up the leafy green part, it helps in two ways.

It kept the leaves out of the chocolate when dipping and it ‘trained’ the leaves to stick up a bit more so that when they are presented, they carry more of a resemblance to carrot greens.

Just make sure to be careful not to pull too tightly or rip the greens out, as it really lends a lot to the look of the "carrot."

You are going to line a large tray or baking sheet with parchment paper. Follow the package instructions for melting the chocolate, if needed, you are going to add in the orange dye at this time.

Dip each strawberry into the chocolate, all the way up to the tip of the greens. Place on the tray to let the chocolate harden, please not that this will happen rather quickly, so work fast!

Chocolate-Dipped Berries make perfect Easter Carrot Treats!

To present these Chocolate Dipped Berries, you are going to fill a small cup for each strawberry with the powdered cake mix, you’ll want them to be ¾ of the way full so there is still enough room for the berries. You can find lots of cute serving cups and mini mason jars on Amazon!

Place the carrot berries into the cups at slightly different angles to give a more playful look to them. They look so cute sitting on the dessert table at Easter Dinner, but this is also a great treat to serve up at any brunch or lunch during the Spring season!

These Chocolate-Dipped Berries Easter Carrot Treats are best when eaten on the same day they are made! As we all know with chocolate dipped berries, strawberries tend to get mushy after a while, and they need to stay refrigerated if they aren't eaten right away, which makes the chocolate super hard!

It's really just for effect, consider it a garnish...though I would probably recommend licking your finger, dipping it into the cake mix, and licking it off. LOL!
