Travel and accommodations to attend the Bad Moms Christmas press junket were provided by STX Entertainment.
I had a wonderful week last week, for a variety of reasons, but there was a common theme: the Bad Moms Christmas movie and attending a screening in Chicago with dear friends...and meeting the cast the following morning at the Bad Moms Christmas movie press junket!
A BAD MOMS CHRISTMAS follows our three under-appreciated and over-burdened women as they rebel against the challenges and expectations of the Super Bowl for moms: Christmas. And if creating a more perfect holiday for their families wasn’t hard enough, they have to do all of that while hosting and entertaining their own mothers. By the end of the journey, our moms will redefine how to make the holidays special for all and discover a closer relationship with their mothers.
Now, I know that we are all big, huge fans of Bad Moms...it was one of the funniest, most REAL movies and I just loved that it was a movie about moms taking their lives into their own hands! I know that there was a character in Bad Moms that every mother could relate to...and Bad Moms Christmas takes that message even further, taking the story beyond the trials and tribulations of being a mom to...BEING A DAUGHTER.
Starring Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn, Christine Baranski, Susan Sarandon, Cheryl Hines, Jay Hernandez, Wanda Sykes, Peter Gallagher, Justin Hartley, and Oona Laurence, the Bad Moms Christmas movie is just one laugh after another, with a genius way of tying in the most heartwarming message you'll hear all the holiday season!
5 Reasons to See Bad Moms Christmas in Theaters Nov 1
This is the best Ladies Night Movie of the year...possibly all time! Of course we all loved Bad Moms, as well as those other girls night movies, but I am not exaggerating when I say that Bad Moms Christmas is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen - and definitely the funniest "Ladies movie!" What are we calling it now? Chick flicks? I have no idea. I just know that I want to get all of my girls together next weekend, grab our popcorn and a beer and laugh until our faces hurt while watching Bad Moms Christmas! (We'd Uber to and from the theater, of course!)
Bad Moms Christmas depicts the real life struggle of moms and daughters during the holidays. Okay, make that year-round, but I think as a mom, you probably know that the relationship can become even more strained during the holiday season. I attended the press junket with two friends who are also moms and we related to this mother-daughter dynamic in a huge way...It's always nice to watch a movie that spins a lighter twist on a struggle that we may be facing in our own lives.
And it makes for great comedy...you know, sometimes it's funny because it's true!
You'll find a character you can relate to! I think one of the genius things Bad Moms Christmas has done is to create several characters that are completely different in every way imaginable. That means that audiences have so many ways to relate to the characters, which of course makes us root for them all the more! In Bad Moms Christmas, we watch as the Bad Moms deal with the incredibly different characters of their own Moms, which I think can make us take a step back and appreciate our own relationships with our moms even more. We get to see things from their mom's side...
While my own mom is more like Cheryl Hines' character, I think I am a mix of Kathryn Kahn and Mila Kunis. Yeah, there I said it. You all knew which character I'd relate to most, didn't you?
Bad Moms Christmas will help put you into the holiday spirit! Bad Moms Christmas opens on November 1, which is the perfect time to gather your friends together and have a good laugh, and be inspired to make your holidays that much merrier! Christmas carols, stories about shopping for gifts, the hustle and bustle of the holidays...it's all so relate-able and had me going home wanting to dig out the Christmas tree and decorations already!
Bad Moms Christmas movie is all about female empowerment. Now more than ever, we women need to realize just how powerful we are. Just how important we are. As mothers, partners, business owners, just as REGULAR PEOPLE. This movie will inspire you to take control of your life, to stop letting the opinions of others sway your thinking, your actions, the way you live your life. We are more than just moms, more than just daughters, more than just the other half of our partners. We are autonomous individuals and we are important and amazing!
During our interview with Kathryn Hahn, Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell, a blogger said:
"I love how you guys have kind of like lit the fire for a group of women who generally are like just take it and we do whatever we have to do to get by, and now you've kind of given us the okay to go, let's f*cking have fun and like be women, girls and friends."
Kristen Bell responded:
"It’s such an important reminder because like look, this is what I say to all my friends. Do you know how many times I’m here? Once on Earth, one time. So like I want it to be joyful, and happy and exciting."
I love that, and I love her! This group of women is so exciting and I hope that you all go see Bad Moms Christmas and get inspired yourselves, on so many levels!
