3 Times When You Should Contact a Lawyer

Throughout life, we will have accidents or unfortunate events that will require legal action to take place. When something of this nature occurs, it is important to know who to contact and if your circumstances require legal action. Read on to learn 3 times when you should contact a lawyer.

3 Times When You Should Contact a Lawyer

3 Times When You Should Contact a Lawyer

    1. You Have Sustained an Injury

Maybe one day, while you are out grocery shopping, you are minding your own business when you slip on a wet floor, fall, and get injured. You were looking at the shelves and did not see the puddle, and there was no wet floor sign to grab your attention and let you know to watch your step.

Incidents such as this one happen frequently. Sometimes you are not seriously injured, but other times you may have a severe injury. It is at times like these that you may want to make a personal injury claim. Now you may be wondering what is the value of a personal injury claim?

The value of your claim is primarily based on how much money you can receive from your injuries. Also, the jury can have a bit of an effect on how much you get. This is why having a good lawyer to help you and your case is incredibly beneficial.

A good lawyer can show the facts in such a way that would make the insurance adjuster or jury feel sympathetic to you and your injury.

    2. You Are the Victim of a Crime

This may seem like the most obvious time to get a lawyer. However, it is still important to be reminded of it and to press charges so that justice is served.

Making sure you have a good prosecutor is key when pressing charges. Taking someone to court over criminal charges can be a long and drawn-out process that may take months and years to end, depending on the severity of the crime.

However, having a good prosecutor help you out, look at all the evidence, and present a good case to win the jurors over to your side of the case can help make things go by much easier. Also, if the prosecutor presents your case well enough, there is a higher chance that the criminal will get a harsher sentence.

    3. You Need To Evict Someone

Perhaps you have an unruly tenant at a house or apartment that you rent out. Or, you have a roommate or adult child who you disagree with, and you want them out of the house.

Unfortunately, law enforcement cannot legally remove that person from their house. In some states, you cannot remove someone from the place they live unless you go through the court system and get an eviction notice.

Even if the person's name is not on the title or lease, you cannot have them removed from the house in many states.

Whether you live with someone and want them gone or if you want to remove some bad tenants, it is wise to review your state's eviction laws so that you can legally and lawfully get them out without things becoming a bigger issue.

You can get an eviction notice from your local courthouse and do not need a lawyer in most cases. However, a situation may arise after the fact that may require you to get one.

Final Thoughts on the 3 Times When You Should Contact a Lawyer

Situations happen in life that may require the law to get involved. Make sure that you are being defended well by a lawyer who knows what they are doing. Whether you are injured, prosecuting, or evicting someone, you can always hire a lawyer to help.
