Cheesy Bacon & Swiss Chard Gratin Recipe

Author Jenn Quillen

  • 1 LB Swiss Chard wash, drain, chop the size of spinach leaves
  • 1/2 PKG Bacon cook, drain, crumble - save bacon fat!
  • 1/2 Cup Italian Seasoned Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Cup Heavy Cream
  • 2 Cloves Garlic crushed
  • 1/2 Cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 2 TBS Butter
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

  1. Pre-heat oven to *400. In the pan you cooked the bacon in, the one with the fat left over, toss in your chopped Swiss Chard and butter. Cook until wilted. About 3 minutes.
  2. While that's going, bring cream and garlic to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat. Stir in salt and pepper.
  3. Place wilted chard in an oven safe dish. I like my cast iron pan.
  4. Pour warmed cream mixture over the top. Add bacon and cheese over the top of that evenly.
  5. Finally, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and top off with a bit more salt & pepper. Bake for 20 minutes or until top is all bubbly, warm, brown, yummy.
  6. Serve hot!
