Ingredients

  • 24.8 oz cinnamon rolls 2 12.4 ounces each, refrigerated cinnamon rolls (with icing) 8 rolls per tube
  • 8 cups apples peeled and sliced
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter cubed

Instructions

  • Gentry remove cinnamon rolls from the package and press them flat. Place into the center of a 9-10" pie plate, making sure the edges touch. If necessary, cut the cinnamon rolls to fit the gaps. Set aside.
  • Mix together apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg and pour into pie plate. Gently spread the apples into an even layer. Place butter pats on top of the apples. Flatten additional cinnamon rolls and place on top of the apples, making sure they cover the top completely.
  • Preheat oven to 400 and bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cover the edges with foil. The foil should overlap the cinnamon roll edges. Return to the oven and bake for 25-35 minutes or until center is warm and cinnamon rolls are golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool before frosting, slicing and serving.
