Ingredients

  • ½ bag red candy melts
  • 1 tablespoon white candy melts
  • valentine sprinkles
  • mini marshmallows
  • conversation hearts

Instructions

  • Add red candy melts to a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 60 seconds at 50% power and stir. Return to the microwave and repeat. Stirring until smooth.
  • Add a dollop of melted candy into one cavity of the mold. Use the back of the spoon to drag the melted candy to spread in the mold. Repeat until all 6 molds are full. You will have leftover melted candy and need to reserve it. Remove the spoon from the bowl and set aside. Place the mold into the freezer for 10 minutes.
  • Reheat the red candy if no longer soft and remove mold from the freezer, add a second layer of melted candy spreading it up the sides just like the first time. Return to the freezer to harden.
  • Heat a small fry pan over medium heat and remove. Remove spheres from the mold and set onto a flat surface. Use the pan to place the sphere, open side down, onto the hot pan for 1-2 seconds for the edge to smooth and flatten.
  • Set rounds on to a flat surface and fill with marshmallows and conversation hearts. Place a sphere, open side down, onto the hot pan and gently press it on top of a filled sphere. Hold it together for a few seconds. Let stand to harden.
  • Add white candy melts to a resealable bag but do not seal. Microwave on 50% powder for 30 seconds. Flip the bag over and repeat, kneading the bag until smooth. Cut a small tip into the corner of the bag and drizzle the candy over the top of the hot cocoa bombs. Add valentine sprinkles. Let stand to harden.
  • To make hot cocoa:
  • Heat 1 cup of milk in the microwave or on the stove until hot. Place hot cocoa bomb into a mug and slowly pour milk onto the bomb. Stir until completely dissolved and top with additional marshmallows and conversation hearts before serving.
  • Makes 3.
