Apple Pie Wonton Cups

Ingredients

  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 5 cups apples peeled and diced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • whipped topping

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 and grease a mini muffin pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Place wonton wrappers into mini muffin tins and press into the bottom with a pastry shaper or your fingers.
  • Bake for 8 minutes or until browned.
  • Remove from oven and let cool.
  • Place apples, butter, sugar, water and cinnamon into a sauce pan.
  • Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently until apples are soft and no longer crunchy and liquid is almost absorbed, about 20 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let cool until warm.
  • Spoon apple mixture into each wonton cup and serve immediately topped with whipped topping or refrigerate, covered until ready to serve.
  • Bring to room temperature before serving with whipped cream.
