Taking a well-deserved break can be a great way to unwind and detach from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. In fact, going away for even just a weekend can be enough time to reenergize yourself and refresh your mindset.

As Toronto is becoming a more popular location to visit during the weekend, it is worth exploring the top activities to do in Toronto to make the most out of your trip.

    Nightlife and Sports

Firstly, Toronto is well known for being Canada’s largest city with a thriving entertainment scene, exuberant nightlife and beautiful natural scenery.

As Toronto is also know for producing some of the most successful sports teams, one of the best things to do in Toronto is to catch a sports game. For example, the Toronto Raptors are a Canadian professional basketball team based in Toronto and attract many people all over the world when they are taking part in a game.

As these games are usually played during the weekend, it is one of the best activities to squeeze in during your trip to Toronto. During these games, it is also common for discounts to feature in many bars, meaning that you can get your drinks for a cheaper price, thus making your weekend trip less expensive.

    Museums in Toronto

Furthermore, Toronto is also known for having a rich history that boasts a variety of museums including the Bata Shoe Museum, the Gardiner Museum, and the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) — one of the largest museums in North America.

Soaking up the local history and getting a glimpse into the past can be a great way to disengage from your normal life. It can also be a great chance to learn something new about a new area. Find a complete listing of Museums in Toronto on Tripadvisor!

    Edgewalk

Moreover, one of the best and most fun ways to spend your weekend is by booking the EdgeWalk. Not only is this a great way to see Toronto, but it certainly keeps you on the edge of your seat. Once you have booked the EdgeWalk, you will be geared up and safety briefed before heading outside to walk the tower itself.

If you are sick of spending your weekend in the same way, this is definitely the best way to push yourself out of your comfort zone.

    Casinos

Of course, gambling is an activity that many people like to partake in during the weekend. Thankfully, Toronto also has a catalogue of great casinos where you can play some of your favorite casino games. For example, Casino Woodbine is a well-loved casino that has 100 table games and over 3,500 slot machines.

Apart from the many stunning land-based casinos in Canada, casino.com is a favourite slots website where Canadians can play some of their favorite casino games.

    Restaurants

If you are staying for a weekend in Ontario, there are plenty of places to dine. Breakfast is the best option to go for at the Drake Hotel. There are also many coffee shops where you can grab a light bite such as the White Squirrel Coffee Shop.

In the evening time, elite restaurants such as Buca and Lee offer delicious cuisine with a bountiful menu.

    CN Tower

Moreover, seeing the CN tower is something that many people want to tick off the bucket list. It is an observation tower that has quickly become a famous landmark in the area of Toronto.

Visiting the CN tower during the weekend also gives people the chance to see Lake Ontario which surrounds it. You will also be able to glimpse sandy beaches and parks that have a stunning catalogue of trees which should make for a picturesque and tranquil weekend.

    High Park

As Toronto is known for having many natural landscapes, High Park is also a popular location to visit during your trip. As Toronto’s largest public park, it has 400 acres that range from manicured lawns to themed gardens to untouched nature.

There are also many other things to do in the surrounding areas such as going to the zoo, taking a dip in the nearby outdoor swimming pool, playing tennis in the tennis court or even taking part in ice skating during the winter when the pond freezes over. During the weekend, High Park also tends to attract large groups of people meaning that it can provide a wonderful opportunity to get to know the locals and socialise with other people.

If you are taking a dog on your weekend trip away, the good news is that this park is also dog friendly.

In conclusion, Toronto is increasingly being known as the perfect getaway destination where many people flock to during the weekend.

From checking out the wide variety of museums and restaurants to unwinding while taking a walk-through High Park, there are plenty of activities to partake in during your weekend trip to Toronto. So, why not consider visiting Toronto for your next weekend away?
