Top 5 Family Friendly Things to do in the Smokies

    Hiking in the Smokies

If you’re interested in seeing the beauty of the Smoky Mountains, then spend some time hiking as a family. There are several trails you can choose from that are already cleared. Of course, you will want to match the trails with your family’s physical capabilities.

    Window Shopping

One of the best things to do in the Smokies is window shop. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are both full of stores that you can shop at for hours. There are outlet malls and traditional souvenir shops and both are types are full of all types of products. It’s fun to look at what each shop offers.

    Dollywood

Dollywood has really come a long ways in the past few years. They are adding more and more rides, which makes Dollywood the perfect place for the whole family. There are wooden rollercoasters galore. Actually, Dollywood owns one of the fastest wooden roller coasters which will be added in 2016 (Lightening Rod). There are kiddy rides perfect for kids as young as two and rides that the whole family can go on together (The Carousel). There are shows to be seen and food to be eaten. Getting into Dollywood can be quite expensive, so make sure you plan ahead for that!

    Aquarium and Mini Golf

Okay, there are SEVERAL family friendly things to do in the Smokies. Your family might have a hard time choosing between Ripley’s Aquarium and mini golf because both are so much fun. The aquarium is one of American’s most popular aquariums because it literally has thousands of sea creatures just waiting to be seen. Mini golf is a favorite because you get quite a spectacular view as you fight your family for the best mini golfer title.

    Gatlinburg Ariel Tramway

There are several different things for families to do in the Smokies that tests their “height” tolerance. However, the Gatlinburg Ariel Tramway is something the whole family can go on. The views are amazing as you ride in the tramway, you can see the Smokies near and far. Plus, the more adventurous people in your family can indulge in the Mountain Coaster, which is new for 2015.

These are some of the top family friendly things to do in the Smokies, but there’s lots more to see. I’d love to know your experiences with these attractions.
