Soaking Up The Sun on The Top 3 Beaches in Greece

Published: Feb 27, 2025 · Modified: Feb 27, 2025 by Jennifer · This post may contain affiliate links · Leave a Comment

This was almost impossible - how do you round up the top 3 beaches in Greece? Well, we've done it for you. We've spent hours picking out the best beaches for you in Greece. Could this decide your holiday booking? Maybe. If you're going to soak up the sun in Greece, why not do it on one of the best beaches?

These beaches have it all: pristine sand, crystal blue waters, a bit of watersport fun, and nearby bars and tavernas for a cheeky cocktail or Mythos beer (arguably the most popular in Greece) and some traditional Greek food. Read on for the top 8 beaches in Greece!

    top 3 beaches in Greece

    Saint George Beach: Antiparos

Coming in strong at #1 is the glorious Saint George Beach in Antiparos.

This massive stretch of beach lined with sunloungers is the perfect place to soak up the sun. The beach is so big that it never feels crowded, but we will warn you that half of it is taken up with sunloungers (which are cheap to rent for the day). Still, there's never a shortage of space, and the vibe is always incredible.

The sand is clear and almost white, and the sea is so crystal blue that you won't resist a dip. Sitting on the beach edge is an endless array of bars and restaurants. Slightly behind that, you've also got the most beautiful Antiparos villas for rent, so all you'd have to do is walk a few feet, and your toes will touch the sand.

Saint George is a firm favorite with anyone who visits Antiparos!

    Navagio Beach: Zakynthos

It would be rude to do an article about the top beaches in Greece without mentioning the iconic Navagio Beach, also known as Shipwreck Beach. Believe it or not, it's called Shipwreck Beach because there's a ship washed up on the sand that never moves.

The exposed cove, sometimes known as "Smugglers Cove" (it's a location with many names), attracts thousands of tourists annually who want to get a picture of the wreck that washed ashore in 1983 while transporting (or some say smuggling) cigarettes.

Aside from the ship, it's a beautiful beach/cove. The sand is perfect, the sea is a transparent blue, and the coves are great for exploring. Note: you can't simply get to this beach. You have to book an excursion or hire a boat for the day, typically from the north end of Zakynthos.

Sadly, there are no beach bars, but take a boat back to Porto Vromi, and you'll find plenty!

    Spiros Beach: Paleokastritsa (Corfu)

This was a no-brainer for us.

Spiros Beach is famous for its turquoise waters and gold sand that make for a perfect day of relaxing. There's such an air of peace and tranquility here, you might find yourself taking an afternoon nap and waking up when it's time for dinner!

There's plenty to do here, with the surrounding stunning scenery also being a hotspot for nature lovers. You'll have the option of plenty of water-based fun, including kayaking and snorkeling to see the beautiful sea life often swimming near the shore.

We will say there are limited sun loungers, so bring a towel or your own sun lounger and brolly if you want! When you're done, there are so many of the best tasty tavernas in Corfu and cafes for some delicious treats.

Those are our top three, but we can't deny that there are so many more we could have included. A lot of the destinations in Greece have multiple beaches, so do your research before you go and try to situate yourself near some of the best (not that there is any such thing as a bad beach in Greece!).
