A trip to the beach is one of the most popular ways to have fun and relax either with family or just by yourself. The beaches offer many activities for people of all age groups and are always at the top of everyone's list of relaxing locations. Furthermore, recent studies have shown that going to the beach is good for physical and mental health.

For an enjoyable and comfortable trip to the beach, you need the right beach gear. Finding the perfect beach gear can be however challenging, so we've compiled a few tips on buying your own beach gears.

General Tips on Buying your own beach gears

It is important to make a list of the things you will need for your trip at the beach. Beach gear needs vary from one person to another, but the basic beach gear should include; waterproof beach bag, beach skincare products, towels, beach mats, beach chair, beach umbrella, and waterproof pouches.

    1. The Right Beach Bag

The ideal beach bag should be water resistant, roomy, light and easy to clean any sand out. A good example of an ideal beach bag is a mesh tote bag. The size of your bag depends on how many things you need to pack. For instance, if you are going to the beach with family you may need to take more supplies with you, hence a bigger bag.

    2. Skin Care Products

It is important to pack a water-resistant sunscreen for your day at the beach. Sunscreen protects you from the dangerous UVB rays which cause sunburn as well as UVA rays which causes deeper skin damage.

Fortunately, many people remember to pack sunscreen on their trip to the beach. You may be surprised, however, when you get home in the evening and you somehow still have minor sunburns. It is, therefore, imperative to know which Sun Protection Factor (SPF) suits you. SPF measures the level of protection that sunscreen protects you from sunburn, depending on your skin type. Consider sunscreen with a broad spectrum; 15 SPF or higher.

In addition, carry a bug spray to prevent insects from biting your skin and a good lip balm to prevent cracked lips. The sun and seawater can cause also damage to your hair, therefore, have a UV protection leave-in hair conditioner.

Don't forget to pack wide sunglasses to shield your eyes from the sun and beach hats with Ultraviolet Protection Factor to protect your face. Finally, remember to pack your skin care products in a plastic bag to prevent them from bursting or cracking.

    3. Beach Towels and Beach Mats

For drying off, carry lightweight, quick dry towels that are long and wide enough for your whole body. If you prefer your towel for lying down, consider an extra picnic towel or a beach mat so you won't have to deal with wet stick sand. Check Beach gear reviews at Seaside Planet for more information on beach towels and mats. For additional comfort, consider a yoga mat and enjoy it's waterproof cushioned comfort.

    4. Beach Chair and Beach Umbrella

If you don't want to sit on the sand all day, consider carrying a beach chair on your trip to the beach. Beach chairs can make your day at the beach much more comfortable. The two major factors to consider when buying a beach chair are; portability and armrest options.

Remember These 6 Essentials for Your Next Beach Getaway

A beach umbrella, on the other hand, will provide you with shade whenever you want since being at the beach without shade can quickly become unbearable. A beach umbrella gives you refuge from heat being reflected from the sand below and from the sun above. A beach chair and a beach umbrella may be bulky, but if you frequent the beach in your car, it's a good idea to invest in them.

    5. Waterproof pouches for your valuables

Waterproof pouches protect valuable such as your phone and camera. In addition, these pouches will protect your electronics from being ruined by the sand. You can either choose a waterproof pouch or a splash-proof pouch. Waterproof pouches enable you to carry your electronics to the ocean without damaging them, while splash-proof pouches protect them from splashing sea water and sand.

If you want to take your phone with you to the ocean for memorable selfies, you can buy waterproof phone cases that allow you full use your touch screen and camera. You can also invest in underwater digital cameras that offer a wide range of features including underwater sound for videos.

You can turn a good time at the beach into a great time by just being aware of the tips of buying your own beach gear. The beach gear needed may vary from one person to another, so make a list of things you need and crosscheck to make sure you have everything you need.
