I have been compensated by JOHNSON’S® Baby for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own.

I have a confession to make. Halloween *barely* happened this year at my house. One minute I was marveling at the fact that it was already October 1st and the next thing I knew, I had two days to Amazon Prime costumes to the house for my kids. I threw up one lonely yard decoration and a door ornament and called it a day. The sad little pumpkins we were supposed to carve sit on my walkway as they begin to wilt. So yeah, I dropped the ball.

I'm determined to do better for the remaining holidays this year. Mainly because they're my favorite and I wait all year for them. So we've already started decorating for the holidays and we're even getting out craft on! Crafting with my two-year-old is what some may call an experience. He's like a tiny tornado; he's impatient, always moving and most of the time he's unstoppable. You can imagine what it was like creating our DIY Hand Print Turkeys. In a word, messy.

At one point he decided to give up on the craft all together and start painting the table. Thank goodness for washable paints or their white table may not have survived - but the end results were awesome!

These crafts are super easy to make. You'll just need a few items.

    DIY Hand Print Turkey Canvas

    Materials:

    • Canvas
    • Washable Paint
    • Construction Paper
    • Wiggly Eyes
    • Glue Stick
    • Scissors

    Instructions:

Dip hands in washable paint. Place hand prints on the canvas. Be sure to place your palm over the same spot for each layer and rotate your hands. Alternate both left and right hands.

Cut out a nose, turkey body, clouds and grass. To create grass cut a 1 inch strip length wise from the construction paper. Then make horizontal slits.  Assemble paper pieces with glue (Tip: Assemble when paint is still wet for extra adhesion.)

    Add wiggly eyes.

To make the process easier, I cut out everything ahead of time and allow the kids to assemble themselves. I also had an entire package of  JOHNSON’S® Hand & Face Wipes on hand. I picked them up at Walmart while I picked up the art and craft supplies - they're in the baby aisle!

They were perfect for cleaning dirty hands while switching paint colors. They were also ideal for keeping all the mess contained. Of which there was A LOT.
