    Surfing Spots to Check Out in 2020

    Whether you are about to catch your first few surf waves or you are a professional surfer, planning a surf trip requires extensive planning and research to make your experience unforgettable. Fortunately for you, we have curated a list of places you must check out in 2020 for your next surfing spot. A spot is Northern Baja California, which has become a getaway for many Southern Californians. The best time to visit Mexico is between May and October, during the hurricane season, since that’s when it’s expected to find big, ferocious waves. However, you can still go there all year round.

    Philippines 

    This surfing destination is underrated, as it is greatly overshadowed by its neighboring spot, Indonesia. Philippines has the same waves in Indonesia.

    Every surfer’s dream is finding that destination that has gigantic waves, that keeps their adrenaline rushing during wave rides. Suffers find this experience soothing and calming, as riding the sea offers a great view of the world around you. Surf travel is now easier than ever, and even quite affordable, which has made this hobby grow in popularity during the last few years. This addictive activity will keep you longing to try out new places and spots for your wave rides. 

    Body Surfing in Barbados

    Portugal 

    Being a country that offers spectacular views and aesthetically appealing rides, Portugal has become a surfing hub. Its waves are outstanding, and it has a vibrant surf culture. Portugal is known to be one of the warmest cities in Europe, and it is also quite affordable and budget-friendly. This heaven on earth can amp your surfing skills since you can tackle some of the biggest waves in the world in Nazare or Cave. 

    The most visited coast is the central one, which can be easily accessed from Lisbon. You can also consider Peniche, which is the capital of surfing in Portugal and a great place to kick-start your surfing activity. You might also like the Algarve region, which is the warmest of all spots. Want to know the best thing about surfing Portugal? You can do it all year long since the country is really warm.  

    Angola 

    Africa has so much more to offer than just culture; it is also filled with beautiful destinations that include many diverse activities. Angola is home to some incredible waves that are bound to give surfers the feel of an adventure. Lying towards the south of Africa and bordering with Namibia, this country has varied tropical Atlantic beaches with a coastline that has long sand-bottom points. 

    The best thing about this destination is that it attracts fewer crowds, making it an even more relaxing surfing spot. It includes a cultural mix of post-colonial Portuguese with some local Angolan influence, which is why your knowledge of Portuguese dialect can benefit you there. 

    Morocco 

    This economical destination is a winter surfing spot, that attracts many Europeans due to its colorful vibes and culturally rich identity. Serving an escape from the cold winters, Morocco has many waves that are beginner-friendly and includes many challenging ones as well. For beginners, consider spots such as Sidi Kaouki and Taghazout. For more challenging waves, check out other spots at Killer Point and Boilers, which attract diverse crowds. 

    The best time to visit this surfing hub is between April and October due to its warm weather. However, keep in mind that this will also be the most crowded time of the year. 

    Mexico 

    If you know a bit of Spanish, it will go a long way here. Mexico is not just home to some of the friendliest people, but it’s also a surfing spot for many adrenaline junkies. It’s Pacific coastline has many waves for beginners and big waves for professionals as well. The most known and number one surf spot there is Puerto Escondido in Oaxaca, which is often crowded. Another busy and attractivea, but with fewer crowds. This westernized country makes traveling so easy because English is widely spoken there. You’re also bound to find many surfers heading there, making it more fun than ever. The best time to go there is from August to November if you’re planning on visiting the southwest winds. For the northeast side, aim for a trip anytime from November to February. 

    There is nothing better than basking in the sun, traveling to new places, and making new friends. These places offer surfing lessons and an overall surfing experience that you will never forget. The lifestyle of surfers is all about adventure and the thrill of being alive, which is why you might want to check out some of the most culturally vibrant spots for your surf trip in 2020. Make it a year to remember.
