When holiday season arrives, there are plenty of good reasons to be happy. Unfortunately, for most people the cold weather means low humidity and dry skin, lifeless hair, the threat of dandruff, eyelashes that tend to shrivel up and go into hibernation, chapped lips, cracked nails, and itchy scalps. For centuries, women and men have worked to come up with quickfixes and natural solutions to the entire laundry list of coldweather skin and beauty challenges. The best five are listed below. They're the ones that have withstood the test of time and are still finding new adherents. These low cost, simple, natural beauty tips might just get you through a bone chilling winter with better skin, hair, and nails than you began the season with.

    The Dryer Sheet Trick

Ever since dryer sheets have been around, since the mid-1960s, the dryer sheet trick has been popular with women and men who have electrified hair. Actually, whenever you have a problem with static electricity on your hair, all you need to do is grab a dryer sheet and gently rub it onto the problem area, and that's that. Try to use non-scented sheets, and remember it only takes one or two rubs to get the job done.

    Castor Oil for Hair Health

Many people know what castor oil is but are not aware of the majormajor castor oil benefits related to hair related to hair, skin, and nails. In fact, you can buy high grade castor oil if you want help with things like dry skin, flimsy hair follicles, limp eyelashes, sparse brows, cracked lips, and thin fingernails. One of the unique things about this all-purpose oil is that it's been around for more than 100 years and people keep finding new uses for it. But, when it comes to beauty and general hair, and scalp health, you can't go wrong with castor oil as long as you purchase from a trusted seller who can assure fresh, pure product.

    Honey

Honey not only tastes great; it has multiple uses as a beauty hack. If you suffer from dry, chapped skin on your lips and face, try mixing a tablespoon of pure honey with a few drops of warm water and rubbing the mixture into your face. Let it dry in place. After about five minutes, rinse with warm water and you'll probably notice a major improvement in the overall look and feel of your face. For best results, use high grade, organic honey.

    Vaseline

Do your feet, elbows, knees, and fingertips suffer during the winter? Many people have trouble keeping those areas moist. Even worse, those four trouble zones on the body often look red and dry when the cold months arrive. There's an overnight remedy that has a long track record. Simply apply a thin layer of Vaseline to dry patches before bed. For enhanced results, cover the area with a cloth or sock so the Vaseline doesn't rub off on the sheets. In the morning, wipe the remaining substance off with a warm, damp cloth. For most folks, it takes two or three days to see results.
