Should you use a dry herb vaporizer or a Dab pen?

It doesn’t matter if you are a new cannabis user or a stoner, there is always something new to learn about within this industry. In recent years we have witnessed the rise in the popularity of cannabis that came as a result of legalization and social acceptance. This legalization and newfound enthusiasm for cannabis has resulted in a lot of innovation in the industry, especially regarding how we consume. There are now many ways to consume cannabis products on the market today which begs the question: which ones are the most popular? Is it edibles? Tinctures? maybe topicals? This article will focus on two specific methods, dab pens, and dry herb vaporizers. It can be challenging making a choice so here is everything you need to know to help you out.

    What are dab pens?

A dab pen is a vaporizing device that resembles a pen and is created by placing cannabis oil from dabs into small cartridges and in most cases, the cannabis oil is artificially flavored. Dabs are concentrates of cannabis and this is what a dab pen is used to consume. To use this device, thin consistencies of dab are placed into the pen and are then heated at a low heat to avoid combustion. You need to place the dabs onto the coils and then heat until it gets melted down in what is known as a wick which absorbs the product. The wick will then heat the material which will create a vapor that you can then inhale.

    What benefits do they offer?

Dab pens provide users with a much faster process compared to other devices and because they are so small, they are very discreet and portable. The Terp vaporizer pen is extremely popular in Dankstop’s online head-shop, as it uses heat instead of combustion which benefits your health and provides a better experience with more potency, flavor, and intensity.

    What are dry herb vaporizers?

A dry herb vaporizer is an inhalation device that produces vapor instead of smoke making it healthier than other inhalation methods such as joints and blunts. A dry herb vaporizer consists of a few components including a mouthpiece, a chamber, and a battery. To use this device, simply add your dry herbs to the chamber, turn the device on, select your desired temperature and then inhale and exhale through the mouthpiece. This device is very user friendly and comes in many varieties including:

    ● Session vaporizer: A session vaporizer requires you to empty your chamber in one session. You do not have the option to turn the device off mid-session and continue another time.

    ● Portable vaporizer: A portable vaporizer is the opposite of a session vaporizer in that it allows you to stop mid-session, turn off your device and continue again at a later stage. Perfect for on-the-go use.

    ● Desktop vaporizer: desktop vaporizers are for home use only. They are large machines that need to be plugged into an electrical socket to be powered. This device might not be portable however, your hits will be powerful.

    What benefits do they offer?

Dry herb vaporizers are very appealing because they offer many benefits. For one, they produce vapor instead of smoke which makes them a lot healthier. The chamber is also small which means you will be saving money in bud long term. Another benefit is that dry herb vaporizers are convenient and portable which means you can vape anywhere and anytime.

Dry herb vaporizers also allow you to control the heating temperature of the herb which results in an experience that is more packed with flavor and potency. You are in control of the temperature and different temperatures give different effects. Lastly, this device is discreet and produces less smoke and no smell which makes it ideal for indoor and outdoor use. You can enjoy a session without risking the health of others or being left with a lingering smell on your clothes and hair.

    What should you consider?

When comparing the two devices, dry herb vaporizers use convection heating whereas dab pens use conduction heating and if you are a more advanced smoker, you should opt for a dab pen because the heating temperature is much higher than with a vaporizer which means the effects will be more intense and potent. Beginners should try a vaporizer.
