    Laser Hair Removal: Some Facts

Laser hair removal is not always permanent

The most long-lasting and many times permanent method of hair removal is the use of a laser. This is not an at-home treatment and a visit to a qualified laser clinic is in order as well as a consultation before the hair removal.

Depending upon the amount of hair to be removed and the location more than one session may be needed but it is the best method overall according to aestheticians for hair removal procedures. Although laser hair removal can be permanent in individuals with thick hair there can be regrowth over a course of time.

For maximum effectiveness, you need to reduce hair growth in general which is possible if you can take out the hair follicles embedded deep within the skin. Waxing cannot do that, but laser hair removal devices can.

When you Learn More About Montreal laser hair removal, you can get rid of your hair follicles. That in turn will slow down hair growth. So you do not have to remove your body hair once every month.

    Pros of laser hair removal

Although many types of hair removal exist, none are as painless or as permanent as laser hair removal. While some aestheticians still use electrolysis this can be painful although permanent as well. Sugaring, waxing, threading, and shaving all leave regrowth eventually.

    Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal substitutes the electric shock to the hair follicle with a pulsed laser application that destroys the follicle underneath the skin. No follicle means no regrowth.

The laser energy is turned into heat and thus eliminates the pain of electrolysis which was the most popular method of permanent hair removal for decades. The pain from electrolysis itself was especially profound in sensitive areas such as the pubic area.

Since the level of the laser is low, however, there is no burning.sensation and the level of the laser can be adjusted easily. There also is no burning, itching, stubble, or “shaving bumps” as when shaving to remove hair.

Shaving and other methods are still popular and waxing and depilatory creams can be used at home but laser hair removal does save a lot of time in the end and give a smoother look to the skins. Rashes and other skin sensitivities are very common with depilatory creams and waxing, especially when done at home.

Laser hair removal is preferred for transgender

Male to female changes can entail quite a bit of hair removal throughout the entire body and for this reason, laser hair removal can be preferred. Males who have undergone puberty can have masses of hair to remove even on the back and shoulders.

Removing quantities like this can be very painful and take forever with other methods besides laser hair removal. The reality is that other methods that are used allow hair to grow back quickly and the sessions become grueling. The battle to win over the regrowth is cut back by laser hair removal tremendously.

Amount of sessions depends on hair and skin type

Surprisingly enough, dark thick hair strands do carry the laser pulses quicker and deeper. Fair-skinned, blonde individuals can have thin hair strands and the pulsing does not travel as fast into the follicle. This is certainly something that needs discussion for light-haired transgender patients.

Fewer side effects occur and the sessions are fewer for dark-haired individuals or some ethnicities. Some redness and swelling might last for a few hours or even a day but it is generally minor.

A good plan is needed for laser hair removal in transgenderism however no matter what and the best aesthetician should be chosen. The International Center for Transgender Care does advise using lasers for transgender hair removal but also stresses research and finding a well-known practitioner.

    Laser hair removal keeps improving

It seems that new technological advances are popping up routinely with laser hair removal and this is a booming business now.

Triple and double wavelengths as well as the flexibility of applying different wavelengths during a laser hair removal session are now possible with the newest technologically advanced equipment. Technicians can now adjust equipment to apply different wavelengths during the same session.

All hair on one part is not the same with each hair being of its own thickness and density.

The follicles can also be deeper on some hairs even on the same body part. There is no longer the need to worry about switching equipment when using the latest laser removal equipment as the programming and quick flexibility of wavelengths have made this unnecessary now.

Appointments are necessary for laser hair removal

This is not the type of procedure where a client can just walk into a clinic and expect to have a procedure. All good clinics also do at least advise one consultation if not more than one and will gladly explain the laser removal hair procedures in depth.

Laser hair removal can be more costly than other hair removal procedures and good clinics also address this issue with prospective clients. Although gentler and more effective the costs reflect the quality of laser hair procedures but these procedures do need to be understood before a client chooses to have some hair removal done via lasers.

Laser hair removal remains a favorite worldwide

Ads appear everywhere now and as of ten years ago, it was difficult to find a great laser hair removal clinic.

However, with the advent of new technology and the acceptance by medical professionals laser hair removal is now a constant in many individuals’ lives, and having smooth, hairless skin is now becoming the norm among all facets of society. It is no longer just the territory of celebrities and the wealthy.

Although not cheap it is also now more affordable than ever. Enjoying a smooth polished look is available to everyone now as many clinics can offer specials and even payment plans.
