Disney's The Jungle Book Blu-ray Combo Pack Diamond Edition will be hitting store shelves at Walmart on February 11, 2014! Walmart is the only place where you can receive a free Jungle Book Lunch Box with purchase of the Diamond Edition! I am so excited for the release of one of my very favorite Disney movies that I created a Jungle Book inspired Veggie Platter with Walmart produce!

The Jungle Book Inspired Jungle Veggie Platter

I went to Walmart and bought a few fresh vegetables and some hummus to create my own little Jungle Book inspired veggie platter. It was pretty simple to make and I think it came out really cute!

We just got a brand new Walmart store in my neighborhood in October, and they even had a bunch of organic options! #jungleFresh Veggies at walmart #shop #collectivebias We don't exclusively eat organic, but I love when I do have an opportunity to buy them at reasonable prices!

This Jungle Veggie Platter is super easy to put together in a few steps. Ingredients 1 tub of hummus, any flavor 1 bunch of brocoli 1 pint of white button mushrooms 1 pint of cherry tomatoes 1 few sprigs of green onions You can also use cauliflower, but I didn't end up having enough room to use mine! Directions Start by spreading the hummus on your platter, concentrating on heaping up as much as possible in the middle. This is going to be the base that you stick your veggies in to keep them upright, and the middle will serve as a river through the jungle, or just a walking path. You say tomato, I say tomaaaaato!

Now it's time to start creating the trees in your jungle. Cut the broccoli close to the base of the florets, where it is thickest. It will make it easier to stick into the hummus if there is a wide base to anchor it down. The florets will help it stay upright, as the even weight distribution will help prevent it from falling over.

With your button mushrooms, remove some of the stems but not all. Your mushrooms will serve as your bushes! Some will be bigger than others, and that is okay! It will give a more dimensional look to your jungle lanscape!

Fill your jungle scene in with a little cherry tomatoes and green onions, they kind of look like bamboo trees! Jungle Book Inspired Veggie Platter with fresh produce from Walmart #JungleFresh #CollectiveBias #shop What do you think? Does this meet the bear necessities of entertaining?

Bear Necessities, get it? I know, I know, I am a cornball. I just couldn't resist!

I loved the Jungle Book as a child. It's still perfect for kids who love animals, specifically boys. I love that this classic still rings with kids!

My youngest would love this. He already eats vegetables like they are candy. We'll have to make one of these when it gets warmer and we have outside cookouts. Then he can even "play" with the jungle a bit and mom doesn't have to worry about finding 'trees' on the floor lol

Jungle Book is one of my favorite Disney movies. I don't know if my kids have ever seen it. We will have to make a jungle veggie tray and watch this movie one night.

I'm loving your little jungle. Just like you I try to buy organic when it's reasonable. I don't do much shopping at Walmart though since the commissary is so much cheaper. I'm a big fan of the Jungle Book and have it on DVD but looking forward to it on Blu-Ray.
