Have You Tried Puerto Rico's Don Q Spiced Rum?

Oh, Rum...Don Q Rum, to be exact! We all have our favorite cocktails, and one of mine happens to be the ever-popular Mojito, which is a staple while spending an evening out in Miami, or anywhere in the Caribbean, really.

Another one of my favorites is the classic rum and coke, but as I prefer spiced rum, I always request that my rum and coke be made with a spiced rum for a little extra something! I just love the flavor of spiced rum, and I am constantly trying new brands of spiced rums to make sure that I don't miss out on anything.

Variety is the spice of life, right? Yes, that pun was totally intentional! Don Q is very tasty oak barrel spiced aged Puerto Rican rum that was just recently introduced to me, and I am so excited to share it with you today!

Of course, I always encourage you to enjoy any liquor I recommend responsibly - designated drivers or car services are an absolute must when enjoying a cocktail outside of your own home!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Don Q rum. All opinions are 100% mine.

If you aren't familiar with the Don Q Rum brand yet, you're in for a treat! Don Q rum is the flagship product of Destilería Serrallés, one of America’s oldest family-owned businesses! hey've been making rum since all the way back in 1865. Destilería Serrallés is based in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and Don Q Rum is the best selling rum in all of Puerto Rico!

I've been to Puerto Rico a few times myself, and I can tell you that they really know what they're talking about when it comes to making rum...perhaps it's all that beautiful Caribbean sunshine and breathtaking scenery that inspires them so much?

I don't know about you, but when I think "rum," I think of Puerto Rico! Everyone knows that Puerto Rico is known for their delicious rum. Ever since 1865, Destilería Serrallés has taken the of creating the most refined and exquisite rum very seriously! So seriously, in fact, that Destilería Serrallés is actually the birthplace of Puerto Rican rum!

For almost two centuries, Destilería Serrallés has invested the time, extensive knowledge, and of course, the resources necessary to make their distillery one of the most environmentally responsible and greenest in the industry. The Destilería Serrallés distillery is one of the few distilleries in the world that doesn't dispose waste water in the ocean, because they know the importance of doing what's best for the people and wildlife of the lovely island of Puerto Rico - and the rest of the world as well!

They reap the benefits of real energy return and use post-production materials, which is so important in any type of manufacturing facility!

You can find out where to purchase Don Q Rum here: https://donq.com/where-to-buy/.

You can enjoy Don Q Spiced Rum on its own, or in a cool recipe, such as this Don Q Rum Spiced Daiquiri recipe that the brand shared with me:

    Ingredients

    • ½ oz. Don Q Spiced rum
    • 1½ oz. Lime juice
    • ¾ oz. Vanilla simple syrup*
    • Two Drops of Angostura bitters

Just shake the rum, juice, syrup, and bitters with ice to chill, and then strain into a glass and enjoy!

Ooh. I have to give this a try. I love spiced rum, especially around the holidays. Don Q sounds like an excellent brand.

Such is the fun of living in Iowa. The state that controls the brands that are available for purchase. Sadly, I don't think this one is on 'the list'.

I haven't tried this rum. My Mom visited Puerto Rico many years ago and came to really enjoy rum as a result of visiting the area.

My sister just came back from Puerto Rico just last week and she said she had an awesome time. I wonder if she and her husband tried this brand of rum. I'm not a drinker but I'm sure my husband would try this.

Honestly all you had to say was rum, and I'd be willing to taste it. It's my favorite liquor, and I love trying new kinds!

I have tried numerous types of rum from the Caribbean, but none from Puerto Rico. Don Q sounds delicious and I am sure the touch of spice is fantastic!

I love a great rum & coke so I'll have to check out this brand of rum. I don't have many chances with 5 kids always around to drink so I definitely want everything to taste great when I finally get a glass.

I love Spiced Rum! I don't think I've ever tried that brand. I agree, sipping a rum cocktail is perfect beachside! I've never been to Puerto Rico, but it looks beautiful!
