Exotic Locations NBA Players go to Unwind

Published: Dec 29, 2022 · Modified: Feb 18, 2025 by Jennifer · This post may contain affiliate links · Leave a Comment

After the conclusion of the NBA season, the players have some time off, during which they can relax, spend time with their families, and go on fabulous vacations. Events during these vacations help form the basis of NBA picks.

Those who aren't tied down to a significant other may be more interested in coming to a place with a thriving nightlife and a greater variety of entertainment options. In contrast, players who have families often choose to spend time with their families.

The players' marital status often affects their decisions regarding a vacation location. However, not every player goes on vacation or has a picnic; some players communicate with fans, while others spend their free time traveling with groups like NBA Cares.

Read on as we discover a few vacation spots noted for receiving NBA players:

    Italy

The family of Kobe Bryant went to Italy in 2017. The former and late NBA player was photographed enjoying ice cream in Santa Margherita Ligure with his wife, Vanessa Bryant and three children.

The Bryants savored the most incredible ice cream in Italy and the views from a yacht. Bryant learnt to speak Italian at age six, which he utilized to communicate with teammates on the court.

    India

Kevin Durant 2018 promoted to the NBA during his summer in India. Durant led thousands of teenagers in drills and practice sessions following a welcome event. With 3,459 kids, Durant hosted the most extensive basketball practice.

The performance set world records. Durant spent his final day in India visiting the Taj Mahal.

    China

Kyle Kuzma visited China in the summer of 2018. To view the Terracotta Army, Forbidden City, and Great Wall of China, Kuzma traveled to Beijing and Weinan, China. Kuzma traveled to Asia with Jr. NBA, and NBA Cares to coach exhibition games and interact with fans.

Kuzma did not vacation in Cancun or Ibiza. Kuzma continued, "Trying anything new clears the mind, body, and spirit."

    Spain

With his wife, Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade has traveled far and wide to relax. In April 2018, Wade and his wife traveled to Ibiza in Spain after the NBA season concluded.

The pair took pictures throughout the city, which is well-known for its beaches and nightlife. Union, Dwyane, and a few friends rented a boat and dove into the Mediterranean Sea.

    The Philippines

In the summer of 2018, Sacramento Kings player Willie Cauley-Stein participated in NBA Cares and Jr. NBA programs. Stein traveled to Manila, Philippines, where he encountered a fascinating culture, delicious cuisine, and a large community of basketball fanatics.

"He said, "Manila's atmosphere is fantastic, and I enjoy the produce in its markets. Delicious and wholesome. My favorites included steak, sushi, mussels, and fried bananas."

    Egypt

Thousands of Egyptians depend on visitors to the country to view the pyramids and learn about their past. Tourism has drastically decreased after the 2011 Arab Spring upheaval, and many museums, historic buildings, and parks have been vandalized. It's great to see Oklahoma City Thunder playing in Egypt as more people return.

Jerami Grant travels to a nation that is rebuilding and trying to draw tourists. Grant seemed to enjoy himself in Egypt as he greeted a young man and his young goats and took pictures near the pyramids.

    Bahamas

Shaquille O'Neal still travels to lovely places despite his retirement from the NBA. the 2018 summer saw Shaq enter a shark cage in the Bahamas that was 12 feet tall and 6 feet wide. Keepers installed large windows to the enclosure for visibility.

    Australia

Rarely do NBA players go to Hamilton Island. It is a Whitsunday island in Queensland, Australia. Hamilton Island offers stunning views from Passage Peak near the Great Barrier Reef. Lovely island with kangaroos and koalas. Instead of traveling to Cabo or the Bahamas, Matthew Dellavedova chose to stay in this remote refuge.

We can conclude that NBA players make the best vacation choices in exotic and relaxing places.
