When you think of traveling to California, cities like San Diego, Los Angeles, and Sacramento, are at the top of the list of places to visit. These truly are awesome cities to visit, but these aren’t the only cities to see in the great state. If you’ve never been to Carlsbad before, you’re really in for a treat. Located on the Pacific north coast just above San Diego, it’s a city with tons of things to do. Check it out below:

    Variety of Beaches

The beaches alone in Carlsbad will have you hooked. As a coastal city, there are miles of shorelines making up approximately eight beaches. If you’re looking for a large family beach, head over to South Ponto Beach. You can watch the whales, catch a surf competition, participate in water sports, or just bask in the sun. South Carlsbad State Beach is another great one to visit. If you love the outdoors, hitch a tent and experience the campgrounds and all there is to do. You can go hiking, fishing, swimming, paddle boarding, or enjoy a nice picnic.

    Plenty of Tours

City tours give tourists an inside scoop on what life in Carlsbad is like. You get to learn cool facts and see historical sites while having a ton of fun. There’s no shortage of tour options available either. You can take a 90-minute city tour on foot where you can learn a lot about the history of the town. If you don’t have a fear of heights, taking an air tour in a small passenger plane or helicopter is an amazing experience. Traveling with friends or your significant other? Why not take a beer and adventure tour? Taste some of the area’s best brews while you get to know more about the city of Carlsbad.

    Cool Stuff for Kids

Whether you’re a kid at heart or you’re looking for a destination for your next family vacation, Carlsbad won’t let you down. There are so many Carlsbad attractions for you and your children to explore. For instance, you can’t visit this beach town without heading over to the world-famous Legoland. The kids will have a blast enjoying displays, playing with exhibits, and riding the rides. There’s also an aquarium and several museums with hands-on exhibits and activities for your children to enjoy like the Museum of Making Music.

    Awesome Food

No matter what your favorite cuisine is, chances are you can find it in Carlsbad. The best part is there are restaurants, bars, pubs, bistros, and eateries for just about any budget. Whether you want to grab some pizza or find a place serving dishes made from fresh farm-to-table ingredients there’s something available for you. You can even catch some amazing street food vendors and food trucks in the area with a variety of cuisine options.

    Tons of Events

Do you like to be in the midst of the social scene? You will most certainly find a ton of things to get into in Carlsbad. No matter what time of year you happen to travel to this awesome city you’ll find some activity, event, or festival going on. In August, the city hosts the Carlsbad Music Festival which lasts about 3 days. During the fall the Halloween festival is certainly worth taking your kids to. They can go trick or treating at all the nearby businesses while exploring the city. If you’re going around the holidays, the city does a beautiful job lighting up the town.

    Plenty of Lodging

Another great thing about traveling to Carlsbad, CA is the lodging. Whether you want an affordable motel, an Airbnb, a nice hotel, or a luxury resort,  you can find them all within your price range. The best part is most of the lodging is within the city limits near some of the best attractions. There’s really no need to rent a car when everything is so close and easy to walk to.

There are a lot of cities you could visit in the sunny state of California, but if you’ve never been to Carlsbad before, you’re really missing out. There are miles of beaches, killer tours, tons of activities and events, great food, and a variety of lodging options to meet your needs and budget. So, whether you’re heading out with the kids, your lover, relatives, friends, or you’re thinking of flying solo, check out Carlsbad and experience all it has to offer.
