Oh, BROOKSIDE Chocolate. You know that I've spoken about it before - that's because it's just so delicious! Today we're talking about BROOKSIDE Chocolate and their perfect accompaniment: Clos du Bois wines. Yep, I went there: wine and chocolate! Is there really anything better? Nope!
Make Entertaining Easy With Clos du Bois Wines
With the holidays quickly approaching, it is time to gather the girlfriends together and sit down, sip some wine! Of course, while we laugh about all of the crazy holiday madness that is taking over our lives!
When the gals get together with a bottle of sauvignon blanc or cabernet sauvignon wine between us, we always want to snack on something, and BROOKSIDE Chocolate provides the perfect pairing opportunities!
BROOKSIDE Chocolate is rich, dark chocolate with sweetened soft centers made with exotic fruit flavors - my favorites are the BROOKSIDE Dark Chocolate Pomegranate Flavor and BROOKSIDE Dark Chocolate Crunchy Clusters Berry Medley Flavors.
Pairing Clos Du Bois Wine with Chocolate
So let's talk about pairing options with wine, shall we? Because nothing goes better with wine than chocolate...well, except for cheese - but we have covered that before! Now it is time to talk about the sweets - my favorite!
Clos du Bois is a great wine brand that tastes pretty delicious with BROOKSIDE Chocolate, and is available in most wine stores or supermarkets if you are lucky.
If you don't have access to Clos Du Bois at your local grocery store or wine store, you can check out where to buy at closdubois.com/wines.
About the Clos Du Bois Wine Brand
Clos du Bois uses French wine-making techniques on their Sonoma county, California grapes to create a range of balanced, approachable wines with a range of aromas that will appeal to everyone. That is wine-expert speak for "these are wines that EVERYONE can enjoy, not just the fancy wine snob customer who only drinks vintage."
Try pairing Clos du Bois Pinot Noir and BROOKSIDE Dark Chocolate Pomegranate Flavor. I always recommend a nice Pinot Noir to people who aren't very familiar with red wines, as it's smooth on the tongue and isn't usually too dry.
I also like a Pinot Noir when I am just enjoying a glass of red wine in the evening with a book or my guilty pleasure...reality TV!
If you are a fan of Pinot Grigio, I personally find that Pinot Noir is the red wine equivalent. It has a nice, smooth aroma and isn't overpowering or too dry.
Merlot and Blueberry Are a Great Match!
For those that prefer a more dry wine, the Clos du Bois Merlot pairs perfectly with the BROOKSIDE Dark Chocolate Acai & Blueberry Flavors. Merlot really needs a flavor pairing that can hold its own - I find merlot to taste best with dark chocolate, and while I hadn't tried a merlot with Acai flavor before, it was sensational!
The BROOKSIDE Dark Chocolate Acai & Blueberry Flavors were perfect with the merlot! Now I get what all of the fuss over "Acai" is about...just don't try to make me pronounce it correctly, okay?
Treat yourself with a glass of wine and chocolate!
While I've always enjoyed the delicious fruit-flavored centers of BROOKSIDE Chocolates for desserts, snacking while reading or traveling (they do come in that handy-dandy resealable package, after all!), I don't think I ever really appreciated how well they pair with wine!
I think I'll set up a little emergency entertaining stash of a bottle of Clos du Bois Pinot Noir and BROOKSIDE Dark Chocolate Pomegranate Flavor, along with some crackers and spread for when unexpected guests pop in this holiday season...or for those nights when I just want to treat myself!
