I've always been a baker, and this blog is a huge reflection of my lifelong fondness of baked goods. I grew up watching my mom bake for every family function, and believe me, there were quite a lot of them, as our family is huge!
She would make all sorts of cakes, trifles, and brownies, but what really impressed everyone in the family was her beyond amazing decorating skills! She's so creative when it comes to decorating her baked goods...but unfortunately, I did not inherit her creativity, skill or talents in that regard!

It's SO Easy to Decorate with Pillsbury™ Filled Pastry Bags
I recently tried my hand at using these Pillsbury Filled Pastry Bags with a simple boxed red velvet cake mix, and they really were incredibly easy to use. I have never been able to create any kind of design on cupcakes before and no matter how hard I've tried, I just end up making such a mess! I finally gave up and just began to frost my cupcakes and cakes flat...which is super boring!
Cupcakes - well, all sorts of baked goods, really - are more fun and festive when they're decorated, and it's something I always wished I was able to do. That's why I was so excited to work on this post and give the new Pillsbury Filled Pastry Bags a try! Guys, there is a decorating tip built right into the bag!
The bags are already completely assembled, so there is no mess at all while trying to insert a tip into a pastry bag and add the filling...it's already assembled and sealed, all you have to do it remove the piece of plastic that seals the tip!
You don't even need to rummage through your baking supplies looking for the right tip and ultimately realizing you've lost it. Pillsbury has you covered! Even if you do know how to decorate or have some real skill in that department, this will make it a lot easier for you because it's all set up and ready to go.
You can even get your children more involved in baking because they are so easy to use and there's only ONE end that could possibly get messy. Talk about a fun way to spend a weekend afternoon with the kids - they can help make dessert for the that evening!
I think I may be doing a lot more baking and decorating now that I've found the simple, easy way to decorate!
Pillsbury Filled Pastry Bags are 16 ounces and are currently available in three different flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate Fudge and Cream Cheese. You can find them in Walmart stores in the frosting section of the baking aisle.
The Pillsbury Filled Pastry Bags were so easy to use, I made a second batch of red velvet cupcakes, this time in regular cupcake size. I am already getting better at decorating and it's only been two days! I would say the proof is in the pudding, but really, it actually in the pastry bag!
