Ingredients needed to make this Old Fashioned Apple Pie Crumble Recipe

    • 1 -2 tablespoons chia seeds (optional)
    • 1 pre made pie crust for the bottom

Directions for making this Old Fashioned Apple Pie Crumble Recipe

Toss the peeled apples with the cinnamon, brown sugar, coconut sugar, flour and option chia seeds until well combined.

Let sit while you mix up the crumble topping, this will let you see if you need to add in a little more flour to hold in the extra liquid from the apples.

Old Fashioned Apple Pie Crumble Recipe

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Roll out the bottom pie crust and lay into the pie plate, when you’re sure the apples are ready, fill the plate.

In a separate bowl, combine the old fashion oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter or coconut oil. Use a large fork or pastry cutter to combine. You are looking for big chunks of delicious crumble topping. Try not to over mix so some of the pieces will stay larger. If needed, add a little more butter or coconut oil.

Cover the top of the apple filling and then bake for about 35 minutes or until the pie is hot and bubbly. You may want to cover the crust edges to make sure they brown just the right amount. Let sit for at least 20 minutes before cutting into.
