Your 2021 Women's Holiday Outfit Guide

It's finally that time of year where we get to wear sequins and jewels with reckless abandon - that's right, it's the holiday season! With the holidays comes tons of fun and a sprinkling of stress too. One of the most exciting things about the holidays is, of course, all the events you'll be invited to.

And, with most of our parties being featured on our own or someone else's social media, you want to make sure you look your best at each party - and not be an outfit repeater. So, if you're on the guest list of a ton of get-togethers, but struggling to find the perfect look for each party, let this be your guide. Without further ado...

    Seasonal Shades

While you likely have a closet full of classy women's clothing, you can always add a few more pieces. After all, you're going to be shopping for everyone else this season; treat yourself too! It's a good idea, especially for Thanksgiving get-togethers, to stick to seasonal sheds.

Not only is it festive, but the colors of Thanksgiving are also universally flattering on everyone. Thanksgiving events are traditionally more casual than other holiday parties, so a statement, chunky sweater in mustard, cranberry, or orange paired with jeans is an easy go-to.

If you want to dress it up a little more for your T-day gathering, go with a high waisted leather (or faux leather) skirt and a blouse in those tones.

And, if that palette truly isn't your thing, jewel tones look fantastic this time of year as well. Think peacock blues, deep purples, and even a dark mauve.

When it comes to Christmas events, if you want to work with a seasonal palette, steer clear of the primary version of the traditional colors. While a bright red dress is stunning, it doesn't work for every skin and hair tone, so try before buying. Emerald green, on the other hand, is a jaw-dropper on virtually everyone.

You can incorporate red through your jewelry, and a bold red lip is always in vogue.

    Bright, Bold & Beautiful

If traditional seasonal colors aren't your game plan when it comes to what to wear to your holiday parties, try marching to the beat of your drum in stand-out colors. A neon chartreuse dress paired with sparkling heels is fashion-forward and sure to win you the best-dressed award at the party.

You can also do a bright blue, off-season but looking intentionally chic. If you're the sartorial siren of your friend group, keep standing out from the pack and invest in some fun, bright outfits. Not only will you feel confident in your uniqueness, but you'll also stand out from the group in all the selfies.

If you do a fun color like the previously mentioned, try muting your lip color or, conversely, doing a bright pink. The best part about these bold colors is they look phenomenal with statement-making gold jewelry.

    Did Someone Say Disco Ball?

As mentioned initially, the holiday season has many great qualities, not the least of which is being dressed as a disco ball without someone so much as batting an eye! Have fun this year and go all out for sequins, metallics, and bejeweled frocks.

Not only is it fun to get full glam when you're going to parties, but these types of pieces also hold their style value. Meaning - sequins and metallics are "in" every year during the holiday season. So, investing in designer pieces that showcase this look is well worth it.

If you have many events to go to and are bored with the dresses, a metallic suit looks phenomenal on all female body types. Pair your suit with an elevated heel to keep a feminine touch to your look, or stay comfortable in a pair of patent leather loafers.

You can also go glitzy with your makeup - don't be afraid to play with metallic shades, and dare we say it? Glitter!

The holidays are that magical time of year where you get to pop bottles of champagne (or give the gift of being the designated driver) and enjoy the beauty of twinkling lights everywhere.

Be that light wherever you go, too! And, don't get too stressed out with all the shopping and hectic scheduling that comes with the holidays - or at least look fabulous while doing so. Cheers!
