    Mommy-and-Me Looks You’ll Both Love

Mommy-and-me outfits have been popular for ages. If you don’t want to go down a cliche route or you want something that is both comfortable and cute, here are a few of the best looks you can choose from.

    Classic Country

The first outfits you can choose are the classic country looks. Simply put, a pair of dungarees can be cute on anyone, and when paired with a white T-shirt or a jersey for Winter, you end up with a simple and super comfortable look.

Throw on a pair of mommy and me shoes by Melissa and you have an outfit that is perfect for the holidays, a day out at the market, or just for relaxing around the house.

    Double-Denim

If you want to channel the 80s in a stylish way, you can never go wrong with a double-denim look. When done right, you most definitely don’t look like you’ve dived headfirst into the Levi’s factory.

One of the best combos is a denim jacket with jeans, but you can also opt for denim shorts or a skirt. If double-denim isn’t for you, you can stick with one piece of denim clothing, and wear a white or neutral T-shirt.

    Summer Fun

When it comes to Summer, there are plenty of options to choose from. You can opt to wear a Summer dress and match with your daughter, or you can match with patterns if you have a son or Summer dresses aren’t your thing.

Shorts and a simple shirt are never a bad idea, with matching Hawaiian shirts being something slightly different and unique, but packed with tons of cuteness.

    Pajamas

There is arguably nothing more comfortable than pajamas, and while at home, matching pajamas should be the outfit of choice. You can change pajamas each season, or swap between hot and cold weather pajamas.

If you want to take the cuteness factor to the next level, you can invest in matching onesies. Let your child pick the style, and try to see if you can find a match one. It’s fun, cute, and will make your child exceptionally happy.

    Activewear

Activewear is always a good choice for mommy and me outfits as it is ideal for your child. Sweatpants, a comfortable T-shirt, and a sweatshirt are all perfect for kids, and you have the chance to up the style factor.

Go for the coordinated and not copying route for activewear, as there is a lot of activewear that is great for adults, but may not be suitable for children.

    Neutral Linen

For Summer and the warmer months, simple linen outfits are always a great choice. They are breathable, comfortable, allow you to stay cool, and can be worn in both formal and casual situations.

Your child will also appreciate linen as it doesn’t feel too heavy and won’t make them feel constricted. It is the perfect material for a warm day out in the garden playing.

    Holiday-Themed

While slightly cliche, a holiday-themed matching outfits are popular for a reason. Matching Christmas jerseys, Halloween-themed looks, or even just looks based on the change of the season.

Not only is this an incredibly cute idea, but it is also perfect for holiday photoshoots, especially if you go down the “ugly Christmas sweater” route.

    Cozy Winter

Finally, you can do countless coordinated Winter outfits with your child. Many brands make the same jackets and coats in both adult and child sizes, and when you add a matching scarf, you will both be warm and cozy.

As mentioned, coordination is better as your child may need a layer or two extra to stay warm, but other than that, there are plenty of ways to match each other.

    Mommy-and-Me Outfit Tips

Now that you know a few of the best outfit ideas, here are some tips to remember when creating mommy-and-me outfits to ensure both you and your child are stylish and comfortable.

    Coordination vs Copying

One thing to remember is that you don’t always have to copy outfits, as you can also coordinate. Having a similar color palette, for example, is not only easier to pull off, but also means both you and your child can wear clothes you are both comfortable in.

    Comfort

Speaking of comfort, never forget that your child is still a child, and they will be doing a lot of running around, playing, etc. This means that they shouldn’t be wearing something super stiff, but rather something that puts comfort at the forefront.

    Keep Age in Mind

Never forget to keep the age of your child in mind. Not only should you be choosing age-appropriate clothing, but also remember that if they are much younger, they may not be, for example, fully adept at eating just yet. You don’t want to create the perfect outfit just for it to be covered in spaghetti sauce an hour later.

    Involve Your Child

Finally, involve your child when creating outfits. Don’t force them to wear something they don’t like, and let them contribute. Maybe they have a favorite pair of shoes or accessory, and instead of matching you, you match them.
