Are you planning on staying in a cabin the Smoky Mountains? If not, you may want to reconsider. Out of all of the places to stay in the Smokies, a cabin is well worth every penny. Check out these 7 Reasons to Stay in a Cabin in the Smokies - what we like to call the Smoky Mountain region. Having family in Western North Carolina - in the actual Smoky Mountains - I am quite familiar with the area and I have stayed everywhere from with family, to fancy hotels, to bed and breakfasts to motels and cabins. I love cabins because they are really like a home away from home and provide you with so much more freedom when it comes to your vacation stay.

    View of the Mountains

Is there anything more beautiful than the view of the Smoky Mountains? Most cabins in the Smokies have incredible views, which makes it one of the top reasons to stay in a cabin in the Smokies.

    Chance to See Wildlife

A lot of times wildlife will lurk outside your cabin windows. And not the creepy type of wildlife, the type that you can see from a distance and still enjoy. Bears, turkeys, birds, and more are just a few types of wildlife you will see while in the Smoky Mountains.

    Arcades & Games

Many cabins in the Smoky Mountains have arcades and games that you can play for free. It’s a major perk of staying in a cabin, especially if you have kids. It gives everyone something to do if it rains or if you’re just looking for something to do while staying in for the evening.

There are also other amenities that many hotels or bed and breakfasts don't have, like communal areas with fire pits, playgrounds and extra fun pools.

    Homemade Meals

Staying in a cabin while in the Smokies can save you a lot more money than you can imagine. One of the ways you can save money is by making homemade meals right in your cabin. Most of these cabins come with a fully functional kitchen, which includes a stove and refrigerator.

Or...you always have the opportunity to hit up the nearby down home diner or restaurant for a real treat! I prefer to go out for dinner when I am on vacation, and just have breakfast, lunch and snacks at "home." I love the choice of being able to cook at the cabin, but I definitely want the opportunity to go out if I want to!

    A Real Opportunity to Relax

When you’re headed on vacation into the Smokies, one of the main things on your mind is to relax. Thankfully, when you stay at a cabin in the Smokies, you actually get a chance to relax. Unlike a hotel, cabins have furniture and fully furnished rooms. There’s always plenty of room to relax.

    Lots of Privacy

If you’re looking for privacy while on vacation in the Smokies, it only makes sense to stay in a cabin. While cabins are sometimes really close to other cabins, you’re not wall to wall to them. You’ll get privacy to enjoy the view and talk without worrying about bothering someone else.

    Unlimited Family Time

One of the best parts about staying in a cabin while in the Smokies is the opportunity to spend unlimited time with your family. You actually have a place to sit down and talk and to enjoy each other’s company when you stay in a cabin in the Smokies.
