This tropical forest has been transformed into a delightful nature conservation area and is home to three temples dating back to the 14th century.

As you may expect, the forest is full of monkeys — all of which are said to be spiritual guards of the temples. At this incredible location, you can watch monkeys of all sizes interact with humans and play in their own groups, depending on the time of year you visit.

    Visit the Tegalalang Rice Terraces

You should also visit Ubud’s most enchanting agricultural icon, the Tegalalang Rice Terraces.

The rice terrace landscape was created as a result of ‘subak,’ a clever irrigation system invented in the 8th century.

Here, you can learn to plant and harvest rice or embark on a 1.5-mile looped walking trail that is suitable for everyone. During your visit, you’ll be surrounded by some of the most breathtaking scenery and stunning photo opportunities in the world.

    Try the Bali Swings

While touring the Tegalalang Rice Terraces, you’ll see sights of some iconic Balinese swings. But none more so than the official Bali swing, consisting of several swings of varying heights.

These are great locations for capturing those Instagram-worthy photographs of the nearby tree valleys and rivers, providing a true Balinese jungle look. It’s also great at getting your heart pumping.

Even a short trip makes it easy to see why the swings have become so popular!
