5 Tips to Make Your Mornings Easier #NewYearNewCereal

General Mills sponsored this post, but the opinions are my own.

While my daughter is not quite a "kid" anymore, as any parent will tell you, your children are always really your babies! With Angeline just moving back home, life has become even crazier than ever - for both of us! She works full time and she is currently picking out which classes she will be enrolling in for school; add her new puppy into the mix and she's about as frazzled as I am on most mornings! Especially considering that Angeline has to leave for work at 6:30 AM most mornings and is still a bit of a zombie.

We all face our own daily struggles with the morning routine, and as the mom of a 20 year old, I can tell you that all of those struggles do not go away as the kids get older. I think mornings can even be hectic and crazy for adults who aren't even parents, especially if you have pets! Throw the kids going back into school after the winter holidays, and I think we could all use a little help in the morning department, and I hope these 5 Tips to Make Your Mornings Easier can help you as much as they help me. We may WANT to be superwoman, or superman, and run through those mornings like a breeze, but we need a game plan, folks!

Plan out your outfit the evening prior. This goes for both parents AND children! We're talking shoes too, people!

Prep lunches and dinners on the weekends so you're not stressed in the mornings. Pack lunches at least the night before, so that you're not scrambling to make breakfast for the kids (or yourself) AND lunch at the same time. Even if you don't prep dinners on the weekends, you can still make dinner time easier by throwing stuff into the slow cooker in the morning before going to work.

If you have pets, make sure the pet food is easily accessible so that it doesn't take much time to feed the pets in the morning. If you have children who are old enough to help feed the pets their morning meal, delegate the task to them!

Keep backpacks, purses and briefcases near the front door so that you always know where they are. Of course, keep this same rule for your keys! We ALWAYS keep our keys on the key rack next to the front door so that we never have to search for them during the morning rush.

    General Mills just introduced:

    • Lucky Charms Frosted Flakes
    • Banana Nut Cheerios

We just picked up the new Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios at our local Walmart and we both love them! Everyone knows that chocolate and peanut butter taste amazing together, and who doesn't love Cheerios?! Angeline has been eating them since she was a baby and we always try the new versions as they are introduced on store shelves.

I just love the box top program. I remember seeing how much was raised when my kids were in school! And Cheerios are always in our pantry!

Peanut Butter Cheerios??!!! YUM!!!! These look delicious! My boys take box tops to school, it's always a competition each year to see who's class can bring in the most!

This is a great post with many great tips! My kids are still doing the box top program and they love doing it. We also love Cheerios but I didn't know about the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios. They sound good, lol! I do also try to keep a stock of easy to make breakfast foods for the kids especially during the week for school!

Oh yum! I think my entire family would love this new Cheerios flavour! Great tips too. I try my best to prep lunches in advance but it doesn't always work. Something I'm working on!

I am totally trying those Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios as soon as possible. I love that flavor combo. It's always good to keep lots of cereal around for those busy mornings.
