Wooden Floors Calls for Some Major Adulting, But Swiffer Can Help!

Do you remember when you were a kid, and all you wanted to do was GROW UP REALLY FAST and start living your life? Well, guys, it happened and I really don’t think that my younger self had any idea what the heck it meant to be an adult.

I am so over this “adulting” nonsense.

When my ex husband and I split up, I got the house. The 1500 square foot house that is full of wood laminate flooring. The flooring that we installed ourselves, with so much pride and effort. Well, it was my ex husband who did most of the work, but still. You get the drift. The problem with these beautiful wood laminate floors is that they get dirty so easily…especially with three cats and two dogs in the house. Bring into consideration that it’s now rainy reason, and our floors get dirtier even more quickly!

Swiffer Floors

According to the National Wood Flooring Association, the amount spent on wood flooring in the U.S. is up roughly 400 percent from 20 years ago. As the demand for wood floors increases, so should the amount of effort we put into preserving them. Whether you’ve ‘inherited’ wood floors through the purchase of a home, or have had wood floors newly installed, you’ve probably come face to face (or face to floor) with the task of how to clean and care for them. Don’t be intimidated or think a lot goes into wood floor maintenance!

I am just about as lazy as can be when it comes to cleaning, and even I can keep my floors looking pretty in between visits by the housekeeper with the help of my arsenal of Swiffer products! Swiffer is always working on innovating their products, keeping them new and improved, so to speak!

Swiffer makes adulting so much easier – so easy, in fact, that Angeline even helps by Swiffering throughout the week.

I have a feeling that the house gets dirtier while I am away, because you know how teenagers are…Angeline recently moved out on her own for a while, and she took a huge box of Swiffer products with her to her new home. She knows how vital they are to maintain a clean home…so much so, that she left them behind for her roommate when she moved back home!

I have a little bit of a game plan when it comes to cleaning my floors, and there are products that I use in sequential order.

Firstly, it’s my Swiffer Sweeper, if the floors aren’t too dirty. If it has been a while since I’ve cleaned, I’ll use the Swiffer Sweep & Vac, which is like a Swiffer Sweeper, but with a lightweight vacuum attached, for when the floors have a lot of debris. It’s not that we are that dirty of a family, but with the dogs running in and out the backdoor all day, they tend to bring in more dirt than we’d ordinarily have. I’ve talked about this awesome Swiffer Sweep & Vac in this post.

With my wood laminate flooring and tile in the home office and bathroom, the Swiffer WetJet Mop is an absolute necessity. It has a unique dual-nozzle sprayer, which breaks up and dissolves tough messes with just a little swipe across the floor. Its cleaning solution loosens dirt and lifts it off the floor, pulling dirt and grime into the WetJet pad, which you simply throw into the trash once it’s dirty. The cleaning solution and pads are safe for all finished floors, whether you have tile, wood laminate or wood floors.

No more buying special mopping solution, no more wringing out a mop over the kitchen sink or having to dump a bucket of dirty mop water…seriously, it just makes life easier on so many levels!

Swiffer recently revamped their Swiffer WetJet Wood Floor Spray Mop, especially made for wooden floors. While I haven’t used it myself, I’ve heard from a few happy homeowners about it!
