This post was written as part of a paid partnership with Swiffer. All opinions are 100% my own.

If you haven’t heard the news yet, Swiffer just celebrated their 18th birthday! Swiffer had a huge birthday bash in NYC in March and they are now officially an adult.

We all know that adulting can be difficult…but what is it like for kids just entering the world of adulthood? It’s rough. There’s a HUGE learning curve, and between going to college, starting new jobs after high school, and entering into their first “real” relationships, life can be incredibly overwhelming for young adults. Take my daughter Angeline and her fiance Max as an example. Angeline is 19 and Max just turned 20. As I travel a lot, Angeline and Max keep the house clean and tidy while I am away. Partly this is because she lives here too, so of course she needs to do her share – but it’s also because it’s great practice for when they move in together and live on their own. Neither have lived away from their family homes yet and I don’t think they have ANY IDEA how hard it is to adult in your own home!

Thankfully, Swiffer products makes adulting a little easier, even for young adults. Or, perhaps that should be ESPECIALLY for young adults.

As a Swiffer ambassador, I have a bevy of Swiffer products in the house at all times.

The truth is, though, we have been using Swiffer since I first discovered them about 15 years ago. It all started with the Swiffer Sweeper, which I thought was a genius invention for our family with 3 cats and a toddler underfoot. I still use those Swiffer Sweepers at least every other day to help keep the pet hair and dander at bay, and Angeline has grown up learning by my example.

The Swiffer Sweeper is a 2-in-1 hard surface sweeping and mopping tool. Switching from sweeping to mopping is as simple as changing out the cloths. The dry cloth has deep ridges and grooves that conform to the surface of your floor to trap and lock dirt, dust, and hair, while the wet cloth dissolves dirt and grime and traps it away.

You see, the thing is, Swiffer really does help make it easier to keep the house clean…so much so that even a 19 year old can maintain a clean house with just a few Swiffer products at her disposal!

For anyone wondering how well Swiffer Sweepers really work…Angeline documented some proof!

If you follow my blog regularly, you already know that I am constantly traveling, both for work and for pleasure. When I am home, I am so busy working, spending time with family, hanging out with my friends, dating, etc – I don’t have time to spend on my hands and knees scrubbing the house every day.

What adults do? Instead, I rely on a housekeeper who comes every two weeks for a deep cleaning and Angeline, Max and I keep it maintained with our Swiffer products in between her visits.

One of my favorite Swiffer products is the Swiffer Sweep + Vac, which I just found out about last year at my Swiffer immersion meeting! Swiffer sent me one to try out and I use it every few days because let’s face it…three cats and two dogs sometimes creates a little more junk than the Swiffer Sweeper picks up alone. It’s a cordless lightweight vacuum with a traditional Swiffer Sweeper attached to it, and the battery recharges. I really love this thing!

With all of these pets in the house, we have come to rely on Swiffer Dusters to keep the house dust-free. You may recall how I use my Swiffer products to help with the pets in this blog post discussing Cleaning Tips for Pet Owners.

If you don’t have pets, you may not realize just how much they can contribute to a dirty house. Regular dust is bad enough in a three bedroom house with three people, but when you bring five animals into the mix, the dust, dander and pet hair collects in the strangest of places! I use Swiffer Dusters to keep everything clean ranging from the keyboard to my desk top computer to the top of the bedroom doors, all way to our hanging light fixtures in the living room!

As you can see, we have wood laminate flooring in most of our home, with just the bathroom and my home office being tiled. Who wants to drag around a nasty mop and bucket? NOT I. I hate mopping. Fortunately, Swiffer also has that fabulous Swiffer WetJet, which makes our floors sparkle with just a little bit of effort…and no mop bucket full of nasty, dirty water!

Swiffer even redesigned the formula for their solution last year and it’s now better for hardwood and wood laminate floors, without leaking streaks. It works for me! There’s also a Swiffer WetJet Mop for wood floors available now!

I don’t know what I would do without our Swiffer products. Angeline is already so used to using them that she asked me for a big green box as a housewarming present when she and Max move into their own place later this year. I raised that child well, I tell you!
