#PlantNite Is The New Girls Night Out

I can't tell you how many times I've had the following conversation with a girlfriend:

Me: "It's been too long we need to get together soon!"

Her: "Yes! I've been dying for a night out and I miss you."

....And then radio silence. Because let's face it, we all like to get together with friends and it's easy to say you want to hang out...but when it boils down to it, between work and blogging and travel and kids and all the crap we face in our every day lives, actually planning a night out with the girls somehow becomes like a far away dream we think about while laying in bed at 3 AM thinking about our to-do list for the next day.

So, Plant Nite, a brand new social event brought to you by the people behind Paint Nite, invited me to a media event and said that I could bring a guest. They mentioned an open bar. And succulents.

Did I mention the open bar? I texted my bestie Bri and told her we had plans for Tuesday. We cleared our calendars.

    Shenanigans ensued.

When we do manage to get together its always the same old song and dance - dinner, then drinks at the bar. Messing with catfish guys on Tinder. Fun? Yes. But it's good to switch it up every once in a while. So we got dressed, call an Uber and headed out to Plant Nite at Lolita's in Brickell’s Financial District.

If you've never been Lolita's is a split level restaurant and lounge. The roof top patio is called Dolores and has ah-mazing views of the Miami skyline. The downstairs (Lolita) is a cozy cafe by day (also, the perfect place for brunch and mimosas) and chic lounge by night.

Rated by ZAGAT as a "New American Favorite", from day one Lolita has been a fan favorite, and included in several lists from: 'Where To Have The Best Croquettes In The World"  to "Best Happy Spot in Miami".

But back to Plant Nite! It's exactly what you think it might be. Get your girls and cultivate your green thumbs creating one-of-a-kind tabletop gardens.

All of the supplies are provided including a beautiful container, soil, gorgeous plants, rocks, decorative elements, smock, music, and a good time. The mini gardens are super cute and they use easy to care for plants which is great for those of us who don't actually have very green thumbs.

Plus, while your there you can enjoy food and drinks while you create with the restaurants special happy hour menu and Weekend Brunch special prices. Lolita's serves up yummy international fusion cuisine to make your belly happy.

A few tips for first timers:

Seats are first come, first serve and also dependent on group size so please let your Plant Nite host know how many friends will be painting with you. If you are coming with a group you should plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early if you want to sit together.  Understandably, not everyone wants to eat while they plant.  You can arrive early to eat first. Just be sure to tell the host you're there for plant night so they can check you in and reserve your seats! If you arrive early to eat before planting, please tell the host that you are attending the Plant Nite event so you can be checked in, reserve your seats and then enjoy your dinner.
