First, let me just say that I was not a comic book kid. The only comic book I've ever read was Elektra, and that was just because my friend practically forced me to read it when we were stuck in the library during a pep rally in high school.
And while I was never a comic book reader, I still love me some super heroes.
I've seen all the independent films leading up to Marvel's The Avengers, including Thor, Iron Man 1 & 2, Captain America and The Incredible Hulk. I may or may not have seen Iron Man 1 & 2 multiple times.
You know, for the action scenes...
Iron Man is hot.
I started hearing the term fangirl a lot leading up to the release of Marvel's The Avengers in theaters. While I had never heard the term before, it didn't take me long to figure out what it meant: comic book fan girl.
Whatevs. You so do not need to be a fan girl to appreciate Marvel's The Avengers!! My husband and I went to a special advanced press screening in May, and I loved it so much that last weekend, I took my daughter to see it.
And my husband will likely take my daughter to see it again once he returns from his most recent business trip. You know, because it's not fair to either of them that I got to see it twice and they've only seen it once!
That's how it works in our house. ha!
Things I loved about Marvel's The Avengers
The action scenes! I love action movies, and Marvel's The Avengers did not lack in action scenes! Fighting, explosions, flying through the air, Thor and Iron Man beating the crap out of each other - this movie had it all.
The comedy! You probably wouldn't think that a super hero movie like this would be funny, but it really was. The first scene in the movie, which shows The Black Widow interrogating someone, already has you chuckling, and that same sense of witty humor continues throughout the movie!
The special effects! We saw Marvel's The Avengers in 3D, and it was so worth the extra few bucks! My favorite scene was the fight scene between Thor and Iron Man in the woods and it was incredible in 3D!
The character development! I love how in each super hero movie, we see a little bit more of our favorite character's personality and what makes them them. In Marvel's The Avengers, we got to see a little behind the curtain that is the Black Widow and also saw a more rebellious side of Captain America!
Have you seen Marvel's The Avengers yet? What are you waiting for?! Go!

I kinda want to see this. My teenage niece who isn't into action movies saw it and said it was funny. Making it funny means I'll enjoy it with my husband. I'm just not into action movies, so it has to have a really good story line to keep me watching LOL

Totally LOVED the Avengers and seen it twice. I completely swoon over Thor (yes, I'm brave enough to admit that). Dylan & Em recently went to a comic convention and bought me a Thor poster to hang in my office. 🙂
I will say that Iron Man is probably my fave character though just for his snarky attitude.

Thor is my guy 🙂 My husband and I love comic movies!

We have got to get a babysitter and see this!
Scott Hammon
I can't afford to see movies twice. You guys are SO rich.
Jenn
LOL The first time was free in exchange for a review, it was a press screening 🙂

Does anyone want to pay for my second viewing?

We loved this movie! I am not a fangirl, but became a fan while watching these movies with my hubs!

This movie was AWESOME! I just saw it this weekend and now I want to go and watch Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk. Thor is still my favorite though. 😉
