Whether it’s related to travel or life in general, we all have that bucket list of things we want to accomplish during our lifetime.
On the topic of travels, most bucket lists are rather boring and unimaginative with items like “visit the Great Wall of China”, “go on an African Safari”, or “learn to surf in Hawaii”. However, I recently came across one that made me stop and think.
This guy’s bucket list was focused on traveling the world and visiting the most famous casinos. Pretty interesting right?
While I know there are people who enjoy a good casino, what made me think was these casinos’ popularity. What made them famous and why would anyone travel the world with this purpose in mind? After all, if you love gambling you can visit the casino online and enjoy the experience from the comfort of your home!
As a result, I did a bit of digging and managed to learn about the 5 most famous casinos and the attractions that have people coming from all over the world.
The Venetian Macao in Macau, China
The Venetian Macao opened its gates in 2007 and is considered one of the most popular casinos in the world.
Besides the fact that it has 3,000 suits and just as many gaming machines, the casino is famous for its splendor. Decorated to resemble the gorgeous city of Venice, Italy, the interior takes you on a journey of luxury and beauty.
Even more, each room is spacious (over 70m2) and decorated with the finest Italian marble. The facilities are sophisticated, and every corner of the establishment screams high-end luxury.
In this case, the elements that made the Venetian Macao famous are elegance and attention to detail.
Foxwoods Resort Casino, US
If you don’t feel like going all the way to China, Foxwood Resort Casino is a lot closer (Connecticut, US,) and has been on the market since 1986.
First of all, the resort is impressive and huge (it is considered as the second largest gaming place in the US). Second, it has attractions for everyone (there’s even a special arcade for children)! There are over 6,300 slot machines and about 380 gaming tables where visitors can enjoy roulette, craps, Blackjack, and other entertaining games.
Moreover, the hotel rooms (over 2,200) are luxuriously decorated and the dining services are among the best in the world. So, you could spend an entire vacation here without ever getting bored!
Cesar’s Palace, Las Vegas
I don’t think it’s possible to talk about the most famous casinos in the world and don’t include Las Vegas!
The city in itself is a casino attraction, but Cesar’s is one of the names that spike people’s curiosity. Cesar’s Palace managed to stay open for half-a-century and it’s become an icon for luxury and elegance.
The casino has 166,000 square feet of gaming space, gorgeous rooms, but the thing that drives people in the most is the architecture. Here you can try authentic Roman baths (after all, this is Cesar’s Palace!) while admiring the gorgeous architectural details that take you back in Roman times.
Ancient Rome is everywhere inside this resort, not just in the baths area!
Sun City Casino Resort, South Africa
If you want an extra reason to visit South Africa, the Sun City Casino Resort may just tip the balance! With over 850 slot machines and about 40 gaming tables, this casino gives you the chance to enjoy games like blackjack, roulette, stud poker, and Punto Baccarat.
But this is more than just another luxurious casino! Guests have the unique opportunity of going on a safari as the casino has a private game reserve.
City of Dreams, Macau, China
We’re back to Macau, which is the Las Vegas of the Asian world! In the City of Dreams Casino resort, guests have access to over 550 gaming tables and 1,500 slot machines.
But the main attraction is represented by the wide network of restaurants, among which you can count the Michelin-starred Chinese Restaurant, Jade Dragon! Here you can try culinary masterpieces prepared by the famous Chef Tam Kwok Fung.
Once you’re full, the resort invites you to watch the impressive water show at the House of Dancing Water. Here, guests can watch performers from all over the world and a pool that holds 3.7 million gallons of water!
Wrap Up
As you can see, casinos are not just for gamblers anymore! People who visit them also enjoy luxurious settings, impressive performances, delicious dishes, and unforgettable adventures. So, at the end of the day, it makes a lot of sense to want to experience some of the most famous casinos in the world.
