I love me some Anna Faris.
Ever since Scary Movie - and House Bunny, and the Hot Chick (yeah, you can see my taste in movies is pretty narrow, I have the sense of humor of a 14 year old boy), I have really liked her as an actress.
When I heard that Anna Faris was working with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment on a new comedy, What's Your Number, I got really excited! But when it came out to theaters, I didn't have a chance to go see it, so I've been waiting patiently for it to be released on Blu-ray.
Well, that day has finally arrived! What's Your Number is based on the book, "20 Times a Lady" by Karen Bosnak. I haven't read the book yet but I plan to now that I've seen the movie!
The plot? Charming, witty and slapstick silly. Basically, it was perfect. Anna plays Ally Darling (how cute is that?!), a modern woman with quite a few men in her little black book, so to speak. As she approaches her sister's wedding date, she finds an article that says that the average amount of men a woman sleeps with before she finds her Mr Right is 20.
Ally scrambles to count down her amount of past lovers and realizes that she is at...19! She vows that night to not sleep with anyone else until she finds her future husband. That lasts about an hour because she drunkingly goes home with her former boss that very same night. And he's not exactly marriage material!
After running into one of her exes who has really improved with time, Ally decides to go back through her list of exes and try to find out if any of them are worth a second glance - and she enlists the help of her skanky next door neighbor (played by Chris Evans) to help her track them all down. Each encounter she has is more hilarious than the next and I really didn't stop laughing throughout the entire movie! My daughter wanted to watch it because she loves Anna Faris too...but she's only 14 and this movie is NOT appropriate for young girls.
Now, I kind of wished that she would just fall in love with her neighbor, played by Chris Evans. But it didn't seem like that was going to happen. They worked out an arrangement where he helped her track down her exes and she chased off his one night stands - it was pretty genius! As time slowly passed, he finally tracked down "the one" - the old middle school boyfriend that was now rich, successful and incredibly handsome and charming.
She struck gold! But, as you know, not everything is what it seems in love.
There's a surprise twist at the end that I don't want to spoil for you, so go check out What's Your Number for yourself!
I promise that you will love it.
Especially the parts where Chris Evans walks around without a shirt on.
You can pick up What's Your Number? (Ex-tended Edition) [Blu-ray/DVD Combo+Digital Copy] on Amazon for $23.49 or download it on iTunes for $14.99.

I've been wanting to see this too. It's OnDemand right now, but I'll probably wait until it's at the RedBox.. cuz I'm cheap like that.
I remember her when she was on Friends. She was SO FUNNY then too.

I thought this movie was super cute. And you're so right about Chris Evans without a shirt, yum! Though I'm still mildly upset that he played Captain America, he was already The Human Torch...big no-no! lol

This looks like a fun movie. There are so many movies coming out that I hadn't even heard of!
