Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike Geeks. I just wouldn't consider myself one.
See, I am old enough that I didn't have the internet when I was a teenager. Of course, it did exist back in 1992, when I went to high school for the first time...but really, who had even heard of the internet back then?
Hell, in 1992, I only knew ONE PERSON that had a computer! Back the, I had a fancy typewriter with spellchecker built into it...
Ah, the good old days when Brother typewriters were the best technology anyone in class had!
Anyway, I had a point. To me, when I think Geek, I certainly don't think techie geek. I think of that kid in Chemistry with the taped-up glasses, the one that stared at me from across the table, breathing heavily for an entire school year.
But honestly, I realize that Geeks have come a long way since then. Hell, I married a computer geek!
I love this infographic that I found on DailyInfographic today - it makes sense out of phenomena surrounding geekdom!
