When you travel as often as I do, you've become pretty well-versed in the various things you're going to need while traversing planes, airports, hotels, and more. "Always expect the unexpected" is my travel motto, which means my travel or "go bag" is always full stocked with all kinds of useful things I'll need, varying from health needs to toiletries to snacks by Russell Stover.
I've got all kinds of wizard-like pockets in this carry-on backpack, and I use every square inch of it to ensure I have everything I might need in a pinch.
First up - the toiletries and health-type items! As you can see, I'm a freaking genius and I've thought of literally EVERYTHING you could possibly need or want when you're away from the comforts of home - a nail file (because those pesky nails always break when you're traveling!), wet wipes and body spray (travel makes you sweat, man), Emergen-C to keep you healthy, breath mints, lip balm, pain reliever, moisturizer, sunscreen, bug bite reliever, hair ties, and throat lozenges. Like I said, anything you can think of that you might need in a pinch? I gots it, yo!
Next up is clearly more high important contents - my iPad mini, of course! Sunglasses are a must for those red-eye flights (or when you step off the plane into sunshine after catching a snooze during the flight), a good book (for those times you can't sleep), your passport wallet (of course!), and this pouch. Take a closer look here...
I always collect things from my travels, and this is a pouch from Africa that I keep my meds in. Also tucked away nicely inside the pouch is a good luck bear I also picked up from from Alaska. While it's not necessarily a necessity, he's become my little travel buddy and I've come to rely upon seeing him in there and with me always.
If you bring electronics with you, it's highly important to have back-up power of some sort in case the flight is long or you don't have time to find a wall outlet in an airport. This portable charger is a BEAST, yo! I always like to keep a notebook and pen inside my bag so that I can journal or jot things down on the fly, and because I travel for work nine times out of ten, my travel bag will always have my business cards in them.
Last, but certainly not least, ya GOTTA have snacks tucked away in there. Not all flights will serve snacks or even meals, and sometimes your connections are jam-packed so tight, you have no time to stop for refreshments of any sort. I don't want to be that traveler sitting next to someone with an attack of the tummy-rumbles, and so I always ensure I have plenty to snack on inside my bag, and Russell Stover has some delightful snackable chocolate offerings that have been quite the travel lifesaver more times than I care to admit! They're also fantastic for snacking at home too...dont' tell anyone but I keep a few Pecan Delights in my nighstand for late night snacking!
